What to buy..
I got a gift of $1000 with specific instruction to buy something for my car..
Been looking at Cat Back exhausts, leaning towards the tomei 60R What would you do with $1000? I know its not much when it comes to parts but ive only owned the car for less than 3 weeks... |

Are you planning on modding the car? If you want to keep it stock or keep most of the warranty questions at bay I'd do:
Nameless axle back 5inch muffler option, grimmspeed strut tower brace, white line camber bolts and white line steering rack bushings. Tomei 60s is nice but if you add headers it'll be crazy loud, like deafening. 60r is crazy loud stock... Just my $. 02

All depends on what you do with the car.
Sounds like it might be a daily driver sooooooo.... Springs ( RCE ) 10mm Wheel Spacers ( push stock wheels out to meet fenders ) Perrin Exhaust Tips ( Sporty look ) Smoked or Clear Side Markers ( again looks ) Raceseng Slammer knob MTEC Springs K&N Drop In Keep things simple, effective and clean. |

If you have performance in mind I would go with an ECU tune. After recently driving my friend's stock BRZ I can't imagine not having mine tuned. Pretty sure you can be denied warranty coverage after a tune though. If you don't want to go that route, go with what FT86SF said.

I second @StormTrooper's suggestion of a Nameless axle back exhaust with 2.5" piping and 5" mufflers.
Maybe a shark fin antennae. A trunk lid liner (a BRZ part) Mud flaps .. ?? Set of locking wheel lug nuts. K&N drop in air filter. That ought to put a hole in that $1,000...... humfrz |

If you like the stock wheels (hey, some do...) spend that dough on springs, tires and bushings.
Or if you want some more pep, for just a few extra bucks you can get the OpenFlash Header & Tablet combo ($1015 together).

At this moment in time I don't want to screw with warranty too much
But I do look to have some bigger upgrades later This is just to get the ball rolling |

I agree with 2point0, Open Flash Tablet for any performance mods you do in the future, and Open Flash Header if you don't plan on going turbo.

I am going to wait on the rims and tires as I can get those through a military deal
So Im getting rims and tires when I burn thru these stock ones I am mostly looking towards Springs Exhaust Smoked side marker lights and a drop-in the only thing Im not sure about is if I should just blow it all on the exhaust (also I like loud, not retarded, but pretty loud) or get a cheaper exhaust to get some of these other things, Its not like I only have $1000 but its all I have right now at this moment I love the sound and looks of the Tomei exhausts but Im wondering if its going to be worth it also not to sure what kind of springs are the best Ive seen some well priced ones (H&R and the Eibach) but cheap sometimes seems like its not worth it |

I'd say you can't really go wrong with Eibach or RCE. RCE is pretty active on the forum so it's nice to know that they're available for questions, etc. If you care about handling (more than looks), don't go too low on stock dampers. RCE Yellow or Eibach Pro-Kit are pretty reasonable drops.
For exhaust, Nameless is a good bang for the buck. Looks and sounds great. If you want just the axleback, you can get springs as well in your budget. The full headerback will blow your whole wad.
