Hey @shiv@vishnu - I just received my ESC today - do you have a tune that I can use on my OFT after I install?

In the absence of that, @Robftss or @fenton should I wait until a tune is available before installing? (Currently: Borla UEL, Tsudo catted front pipe, OpenFlash Stage 2 UEL E85 A01D 1.54b map)

I'm jealous. My batteries arrived an hour ago but ESC is in customs on the opposite side of the country.

edit: Also interested in status of OFT Tune (specifically Stg2+Gasoline+ESC)

Err nm. Just saw it said you do. You can always install and don't activate below 4k, and pay attention to your data for afr etc.

I would wait to hear from shiv. This is the first auto with the phantom and you do have quite a few mods.

Especially if you are running e85 you will be making a lot of power.

I'm sure he will get back to you soon.

What sort of work do you want? I could change your tune to spin up to 8,000 RPM is about 2 minutes (including the time to email back your ROM file) but that wouldn't be very productive. The motor doesn't make any more power up there due to the cam profile and supposedly we have relatively weak valve springs from what I have found on here.

I finally got through reading this entire thread - took me a week reading into the late hours of the night.

What an incredible little product you guys have developed. I am very interested in the OFT+ESC+OFH combo. Even though some folks are thinking that the OFH is an unnecessary add my guess would be that it helps a lot when you are not in WOT. I see the ESC as an extra boost on top of the already nice OFT+OFH combo.

So excited about the kit but I do agree with the issue with the relay switch. I can already see my wife going for a drive and not paying attention when she gets home - and voila dead battery the next day.

This is a very good point about the OFH that is often missed. An aftermarket header enhances non-WOT performance while the Phantom Electrocharger's mountain of torque is on deck for when it's time to get busy.

For a while I was torn between gutting the stock cat, which has shown to yield nearly the same gains as an aftermarket header, or buying an OFH. What swayed me back to the OFH were that I could keep my stock header for warranty repairs (an advantage that the Phantom Echarger shares), and of course 'dat sweet boxer rumble.

Huge thanks to @shiv@vishnu and the gang at Vishnu and Openflash as I'm currently running OFT+e85. The car loves corn juice because of his tune and that device.

Legendary-epic thanks to @Robftss, @fenton, and all the Phantom eCharger testers/tuners. I am now a week away from receiving my Phantom Electrocharger. Shortly afterward, the OFH. Build thread coming up!

Obligatory burnrubber emoticon

I have the hardware version which basically dials back the motor rpm when a set boost pressure is exceeded. It works in a pinch but a tune is really the ultimate compliment to this product.

In the end I'm hoping that Rob can implement the smarts into the firmware of the controller to control the boost.
