The second one probably just wanted to get your signature on a contract before you went somewhere else. Hard to say which dealership is the bad guy and which one was being honest. |

When I was ready to purchase my car back in August of this year the dealership didn't even have pricing information about the 2014's available (that were supposed to be arriving at the dealerships in less than a month at that point).
I also e-mailed my salesman earlier in September asking him about the touchscreen that was to be standard on all of the 2014 models, and I linked him to the information about it from Scion's website, and he replied to me thanking me for the link, and saying that he hadn't yet heard about that (and this feature was suppsoed to be standard on all 2014 Scion models), but would try to look into it for me. That being said, I would take anything that a dealership says with a grain of salt. Honestly at times they seem to be almost appallingly uninformed with regards to information about the vehicle's they're selling. I don't think they're unaware that a lot of people would like get more power out of this car, so it wouldn't surprise me if they came out with a model that offered that sooner or later, but I think it's safe to say that it would come with a significant if not steep increase in the price tag - which I think is one of the things that makes this car appealing, and accessible to a lot of people. We'll see! |

If something isn't around the corner for 2015, well, it'd be pretty disappointing to have basically three years without some sort of refresh.

scion/toyota/subaru have repeatedly said they were not turbocharging it. It would compete against their other turbocharged models (subaru, and they're the ones who build it, so what they say goes)

Nice!
This post reminds me of all of the rumors at the Mazda dealers of an RX7/9 come back since 2001.

A minor refresh would be nice. I myself would like to enjoy my car a couple more years before considering a model upgrade... Maybe something along the lines of a third generation BRZ.

I don't think so - I had already put down a deposit on my 2014 that was coming in. I actually wanted a 2013, but that late into August they could only locate 1 car with the specifications I wanted, and it was across the country - an FR-S in asphalt, AT, no spoiler.

The job of dealerships is moving the cars currently being rolled off the assembly line, not making customers want to wait for some hypothetical future model which might never exist.
Manufacturers don't tell anything to dealers about their future plans that haven't been officially announced, to do so would be shooting themselves in the foot. |

8 months ago the dealership told me they had the real HPFP fix and to bring my car in. Glad I didn't bother..

Don't believe it. There is a guy that hangs out at the local coffee shop next to the dealer here and he has it on good authority that this is only 92.7% confirmed.

Ive worked for a Toyota dealer for almost 10 Years and I know a lot of people at the corporate level. From random conversations I've had, I would not count on any of what was originally posted.
