I ran the car in our local practice on Saturday. At St. George, I was getting some axle hop on launch and it started to happen this weekend as well. I raised the launch control revs and that seems to fix it ( you can see me do that in this video using the cruise control stalk). I still need to do bushings in the rear, so hopefully that will help as well.

Great vids. What is your camera/mic setup? All my gopro vids get taken over by wind noise once I hit 30+.

I have an external mic plugged into the GoPro that feeds down into the rear footwell.

Actually, the wheel hop only happens when they get hot. When they are cold, the tires just spin happily away with me going nowhere!
I used to get the same problem on the STR MX5... and more revs on launch fixed it there as well. More revs fixes a lot of things

That can be eliminated with some changes in launch technique, there is a sweet spot on launch of RWD where you want the the rears to spin ever so slightly, but the car is moving forward, it not easy and it is been years since i launched a RWD car, but i can can ride with you and give you some pointers. Maybe you could give me some, i sure need them after last sundays race. |

Too arbitary, Tom. Easier just to increase the revs with Launch control and be consistant.
As for Sunday, it was a small car course. You never stood a chance. If you're going to the practice in two weeks, we can hop in each others cars.

A couple of updates today :-
First, I installed a Perrin Inlet tube. The hardest part of the install is unclipping the stock sound tube! Then, Colin from KCMachine came over to install his custom Shorai battery kit. This kit makes it easy to install a Shorai, so no need to become a fabricator. Very nice quality. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...ight=KCMachine @KCMachine
