I have nothing against safety features, only traction control because it changes how the car acts in certain situations. I like having airbags and seat belts, hell, if I could I'd put a 6 point harness, because Race Car. |

You mean to tell me you can't just swerve/drift around a deer like how ryosuke did to the Takeshi's GT-R?

2. I have a half second screech with the tires when pulling out, as I'm pulling out towards the right and on a hill, even though it's only a half second, TC kicks in and kills the throttle. |

Schumacher isn't, Mansell isn't, Raikkonen isn't, Senna wasn't, Prost isn't, Alonso isn't. Every year traction control has been allowed a car with traction control wins the championship. Unless you meant commercially available mass produced consumer systems, in which case I agree, those systems aren't designed for speed. |

If you feel like you are going above the slip angle or wheel slip safety thresholds programmed in the software, and TC is kicking in, but you are confident you're still in full control and it's slowing you down, try again with the sports mode on (VSC), and eventually with TC off. I would say an autocross is the perfect place to compare how the car handles with aids off... lots of tight turns and precise inputs required, can only go WOT for so long, etc. Also if you have Forza or Gran Turismo, try playing with TC on/off. It takes some skill not to spin out with TC off with the supercars..

I can't believe this thread is still going around in circles like this... There is a big difference between whether having TC/VSC on is faster and whether or not it is safer. In fairness to the OP, he asked if it was faster.
For those just tuning in, here is a summary: -It is pretty unanimous that, on this car, your times will be faster with TC/VSC off. -No amount of arguing will ever convince @Luis_GT that leaving TC or VSC on is safer for regular driving. I think those two statements pretty well sum up all the pages of this thread so far. |

I've actually been really impressed with the TC system in my Porsche so far - I was driving in the rain on the way to work this morning, and with the car in sport mode, I can pretty much just peg the throttle on the way out of a corner, and it will keep it close to the limit of grip (and even let the back end kick out a bit if I want it to). I'm not sure if I could drive it any faster manually, to be honest. I haven't tried it without sport mode engaged, so I don't know how much of a difference that makes.
