Fair enough! My last car was an Audi so to me the materials feel cheap, but the layout is still very good.

It's actually only 20%, and so far I've been lucky to not get pulled over. I've driven past cops, and stood next to them at red lights, and one even came up to me to talk about how nice my car looked when I first got it. No bad luck...yet. *fingers crossed*

Dam I have 20% too and I couldn't even tell haha, must be the lighting/color contrast against the car. Never had a problem with the fuzz either. I felt 20% was just the right amount, not too light, not too dark

hmm i think i need to go back home and read my car's initial purchase more carefully.
Because I could swear my 500 rebate (purchase in March in US) is included on the price of the car, not through a check from Toyota later....

(by the way, how long did it take for the check to get to you from the moment of purchase?)

Well, the whole cheque thing is a long story but I'd rather not jinx it now by telling the story until I get it.

But the student rebate form was faxed by the dealership to Toyota Canada the day after the delivery of my car. Originally, I was told that the cheque would come directly to me but 6 weeks later, Toyota Canada responded and said that's only true for Toyota vehicles. For Scion vehicles, the cheque actually goes to the dealership first, who has to deliver it to me then. I guess the form had different sections to be signed for either situation, and they made me sign the Toyota one first before realizing, so on Aug 30, I was called back to the dealership where they made me sign the correct section on the form, so it's been almost 4 weeks since. Hopefully I'll have the cheque in another couple of weeks.

To answer your question though, if everything is done right, probably 4-8 weeks from the day the form is sent.

Save it... You will need tires soon enough. They cost $1000 for good Michelins. (Or More!) You can go 225/45 on the stock wheels. Or get new wheels and new tires! You are half way there with the $1000 you have saved now.

Use the cheque to buy your winter tires. That's probably the biggest one-time expense you'll have for your car in the next few months. Which reminds me I should start saving and looking for some myself...
