BBS SR - 17x7.5 +48 & 18x8 +48
I stumbled across these on Tire Rack and really like them, despite the conservative offset. Currently trying to decide between 17x7.5 (21.8lbs) ($215 each) or 18x8 (24.6lbs) ($265 each). Thoughts?

Wow, great find! I might consider these as they are the perfect specs. Weight will be the deciding factor..

I saw the title and thought you were going with different diameters front and rear.
Like the rims though.

I'm not sure yet on the weights, I've emailed Tire Rack and BBS and I'll make a post if they reply.
Here's some info about the wheel from BBS' site, they're calling it a winter wheel, hope that doesn't mean it's overly heavy. "The new BBS premium winter wheel combines elegance and sportiness with maximum functionality. True to the BBS company philosophy, it is completely and exclusively produced in Germany, just like all other models of the manufacturer. Soft radii and contours from the hub to the flange enable easy wheel cleaning, which proves itself extremely practical especially during the winter. Nevertheless, the rim design speaks loud and clear and unmistakably identifies the new addition from Schiltach as a distinguished member of the BBS family. Spokes that continue through to the hub bore make the SR model seem bigger. Even in 16 inches, the smallest available size, the wheel makes a significant impression."

@G_Ride good point, the other wheels are 21-22lbs for 17x7.5. This will likely be in the same area, that's too bad. If only TSW made a rotory forged split 5 spoke.

From @DarrenDriven 's wheel weights thread Average Wheel Weights by @coyote I've listed what I'd consider to be average weights. Anything under or over these ranges would be light and heavy, respectively. 16x7 14-18lb 16x8 15-19lb 17x7 16-20lb 17x8 17-21lb 17x9 18-22lb 18x7 18-22lb 18x8 19-23lb 18x9 20-24lb 19x & 20x... Who cares, they are all heavy. |
