Just to be clear, I suspect their claims that the Ecutek tunes are shit could well be entirely accurate. I just don't support coming to a new platform and promoting yourself by opening up someone else's work and bagging it.

Just post logs and let your own work stand on its merits.

I had a Vishnu Procede tune on my BMW 135i that I had previous to my BRZ I have now.

I loved that tune, my 135 was a rocket.

And yes I'm probably being nitpicky but I care a lot about these things, and many others do too. Open Source is helping out a lot of other countries and education, who can't exactly afford a Microsoft license. It has also started a full host of smartphones with Android. Yes these are largely business driven, but a lot of the work is completely open.

This is a huge advancement for the FRS & BRZ, but in my opinion not all the way to where it could be. I'm hoping there comes something truly open source in the future but I think this OpenFlash is very cool indeed and a good alternative to Ecutek from my standpoint
Maybe in other areas yes, but here it's 3 of you and you've ruined several threads with your crying. The open part as everone but you has realized is a reference to the fact that the tunes are open, and shareable. The tablet is just a tool. It's akin to you complaining that you can't look at the code for, and reprogram your digital torque wrench. Do you hear bartenders around the world crying that they call everything in a martini glass a martini rather than only chilled gin with a splash of vermouth?

Terminology changes over time and becomes a part of common vernacular or do you really think open source code was the origin of the word open, and all usage must reflect that. Get over it... seriously. It's been weeks and there are far more things to be concerned over.

Edit: oops w the self quote, nonsense sentence fragment, and "douchey" comment. Not deleting since I already posted it but may or may not have been drinking til 6:30am (now) ha. Eesh.

Wow just finished reading the whole thread and i was excited until i stated getting to the last few pages. I felt like i was watching miley twerk all over again because i was shaking my head at the screen like Really? I think a new thread about the tuning should be created in the future. on a positive note we are all now experts on the word OPEN lol

Since the ROM files and definitions are the only truly "open source" part, they should definitely be available to everyone. Did you check their download page?

I did. Only the maps seem to be available at the moment. The OTS maps zip file only has the bin files, no XDF's.
