There is a structural crash bar behind it. Not something you want to remove on a street car as you remove a lot of your accident protection. However on a race car like that pictured above it's just extra weight.

I'm soon installing a Full Blown turbo kit and radiator/oil cooler, so the front end needs to come off.
While it's off, I will be cutting the black mouthpiece portion off completely and making my own wire-mesh grill. I'll also be replacing the metal crash bar with this part which I'll also paint black. http://www.rallysportdirect.com/Beat...ont-Beam-Brace |

this looks dumb IMO. And the mustache/mouthpiece thing is stupid...
Some people are just too obssesed with and over-analyzing the car's front end. I like it/don't mind the brz's front end at all. Although I think I would like the look of no bumper and just a grill better. The Fr-s front end...i just dont like it much. However, I think the 10 series as a whole looks pretty neat. |
