I was hoping that there was a fix for this, as I can't seem to find any rubber top hats. I'm on Fortune Auto's but I can't stand how noisy aluminum top hats are going over the slightest bumps, especially with the roads here.

Would it be advisable to get some automotive grade, high durometer rubber and cut to shape of top hats and use it as a shim between?

There are 2 options for rubber top hats. Re-use your stock top hats or get some Group-N top hats.

That's great for people with stock shocks. Any after market shock is still screwed. At least the konis because of the how you have to tighten the nut.

You should be able to knock off the factory washer to give the room required.
