To the OP:

I bought my car from a certain dealer in Colorado Springs. Here's what I did to register the car in CA:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...&postcount=410

As for price, I know it varies... but:

MSRP on the BRZ I have came out to (roughly) $29500. After CA tax and even accounting for the gas money driving back (I used my points to fly out there), I paid $30500 from this certain dealer.

I highly doubt any dealer can beat that price.

They'll sell it to you at MSRP if you insist on it. I did say I got mine for $600 over INVOICE.

I had consider getting one out of Colorado, but I didn't want to have to deal with smog, vehicle inspection, or the DMV. Plus you still have to get the car back either by transport $800 or driving it back (4 hour flight + 18 hours driving).

You have about 4 more months and the 14's should be coming out. Just wait and you will get a GREAT deal.

I'm picking my BRZ up from Clint on Tuesday! Making a vacation out of it as well(A week in Colorado ). So with flying out there, 4 nights of hotels, and gas I am still paying less than any dealer near me(I mean a lot less).

$30,500 for everything (Taxes, Licensing, Paperwork) is not bad at all. Is this Clint's dealership (HeubergerMotors)?

Thanks for the link as well man!

I must have misread what you have typed since I was at work when I reading your post. How much does the BRZ cost at invoice? If it's at $25000, $25600 is not a bad price at all.

If you think about it, smog, going to the DMV for vehicle inspection can be a hassle. Driving back for 18 hrs can also be very tiring.

Yeah, that's what I told Clint as well. The 2013's will be slightly cheaper once the 2014's come out.

Keep me updated on this. It would be nice if you don't mind PM'ing the prices you paid so I can get a rough estimate on how much will my BRZ cost if I went to Colorado to pick it up.

Invoice on a Limited is ~27k.

I know how you CA residents feel...dealerships here in NY don't have much in the way of BRZs, and the ones they DO have are either the wrong transmission, ludicrously overpriced, or both. I wouldn't have minded an FR-S (through I prefer the BRZ) but the story was the same with any local Scion dealer...AND they refuse to haggle. So, I looked elsewhere.

What I ended up doing was to order a BRZ from Ramsey Subaru in NJ for $500 under invoice (so 26.5k) going through a salesman there who runs a car purchasing program on the ClubWRX forums. The total out the door cost to me for a Limited with no additional options was just a hair over 29k, which was by far the best deal I could find in the Northeast.

And while Ramsey can ship cars anywhere in the country through a handful of 3rd party shippers, everything I've seen on these forums about Clint and Heuberger says that's the best way to go in that part of the country. I have no experience with him or Heuberger personally but I have yet to read a bad review.

...on a side note, waiting another month and a half to get my car is killing me but hopefully it'll be worth the wait!

I'd try Livermore Subaru, got mine for MSRP. Go to any other dealer in the Bay and prepared to get ripped.

So would you say that on the east coast, going through this guy from the ClubWRX forums with Ramsey Subaru is the way to go? Makes no sense shipping or driving across the country if I can just go pick it up in NJ, unless Clint's price is significantly lower (which I doubt).

Only problem is the lack of models and color options.

I've been checking out a few Subaru dealerships in the Bay Area. You know what your right. Its either they have the wrong transmission, overpriced with their markup, or they don't have the color I wanted available.

I'm still searching around the bay area since picking up a BRZ in another state requires me to have it smogged, going to the DMV to have it inspected, and giving the paperwork to them. To must hassle on my part. Besides that, if i didn't opt for the out of state Subaru dealership to have it shipped to me, that will be an 18 hr drive for me to come back. Anyways, if I cant find one by the end of September, i'll just go for Clint instead.

Thanks for the prices man.

Seeing those numbers, Clint still has a better deal on the limited manual at invoice.

I'm still deciding between the white satin pearl and the dark grey metallic. Wanted to get a brand new car this time around since my second car was used when I got it.
