It was 56 degrees on the way home from work this morning, and much to my amazement, no chirp. I wonder if there's a correlation.

Dealers been ok I guess, considering all the posts I just read. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't buy this car. I've owned, and do own, Lexus, Toyota, Scion. Never buying a Scion again.
Not looking forward to going through all this crap again. Toyota is about to lose a lifelong customer of 30 yrs, to Honda, if this doesn't get resolved.
Its not that bad.. It's just a "noise" and not affecting the operation of the car.
Honda has it problems too.. Just ask any V6 accord owner with an automatic transmission. It will get worked out.. It just takes some time.
If this was a Camry or corolla then noises would be more of a concern..

It's not an issue in Australia but it could be soon as they are trying to convince us that ethanol is good for our cars as they ramp up the marketing to gain wider acceptance.

Have you tried a couple tanks ethanol free gas?

Well, my car finally started chirping, that I noticed, a few weeks ago. I'm just over 18,000 miles. Getting a new fuel pump soon.

Going in for my third fuel pump replacement. I am at 10,500 miles and the second one went just 1,000 miles ago. I guess there is no change in the part at this point? Same one keeps getting put in?

Right. Putting in a new pump will result in crickets most likely at some point. Could be 10 miles, could be 10,000 miles.

Others have had luck putting ethanol free gas for a couple of tanks and the crickets went away. So you may want to try that route.

I am. Either way, I noted the issue with my dealer and will email Subaru of America about the issue, but I see zero point in having another fuel pump installed if it wont ultimately fix the issue.

Angry

Mine started chirping around 2500 miles. Brought my car in. Dealer decided to replace the pump but it took TWO full months to get a gasket in. Two months!

Finally got the new fuel pump installed about a month ago. It was great for two weeks and then it started chirping again. Called the dealer again. They said to come in later that week because they had some master tech coming that day. The master tech looked at it and came back with "it's operating as expected". So their take on it now is they won't fix it because the pump works? What about the crickets under my hood!?

Sounds to me like they haven't figured it out yet. Are they replacing the fuel pumps with the exact same model expecting that they'll work better?

Mine has been chirping, just at 12k now on my 4 month old BRZ. Second oil change and new fuel pump scheduled for July 31. I'll see how long the crickets stay away. I have noticed they are absent, loud or whispering but no correlation yet on any variable.
