Well, just about everyone who has used ethanol-free gas has reported the crickets go away. Since I also don't care about the chirp until they actually produce a chirp-free pump, I'll either continue to not care about the chirp or kill it with e-free gas.

Very, why would you question it? How is the jury still out when I have proven it is not case and others also concur?

Are you also saying all those on here who have had their pump replaced are lying that the chirping came back after replaced ?

or perhaps you have some insider knowledge, gas stations are misrepresenting their octane levels ?

I'm on my second pump. I have run nothing but 93 octane, and this pump chips too. Hasn't affected the driveability any.

The chirp is even happening on the 2013 production models which are really far outside the VIN range.

44 days and 1520 miles after the pump was replaced.
I heard the crickets this morning.
It's hardly noticeable now, but it probably is because it's only the first day of chirping.

My service consultant wasn't helpful enough to find that out for me.
All I can say is that the parts were ordered on 2/22, receive at the very end of April, and installed on 5/22. It most likely is the green dot one.

took my car in for the the crickets a 1,050 miles, they gave me the run around about no official recall and that its not affecting the cars performance. then they called me a few days later wanting me to bring in the car to see if if the part toyota sent over had a date later than the one currently on the car. I brought it in, and they ended up replacing it.

no crickets for now.. ive only put about 150 miles on it since, so now im just playing the waiting game.

btw, i use shell v-power 93 octane.

Just finished a full tank (refueled at a quarter tank) of booze-free gas. Not one chirp. I'll ask this until someone answers: Has anyone taken apart a chirping pump just for GP?

I've had mine replaced twice. Recently went back to my dealership. Service tech called Toyota because apparently mine has been the only FR-S brought back after having it replaced the first time. Toyota sent "engineers" (told by my service tech) and they wanted to see what was going on. Pretty much said to replace again. Getting tired of going back. I'm starting to become a regular at my dealership. Sucks.
