I just checked the air filter for the 2006 Highlander Hybrid (Wix 49185) and it is shorter than the filter in the TRD intake. I measured the intake box and it is roughly 16.5"x5.75". The only filter I could find that is close to that size is one for a 1970's Jaaaaaag (Wix 46004). So far, it looks like there is no equivalent paper filter replacement for the PTR03-18132.

Which stage of the ecu tek tune did you do? Stage one or two. I'm looking into it now.

im not sure if this is what ur talking about, but i did some research,

the highlander hv(hybrid) is not the same size as a trd air filter for our cars.

in the pic u can see the trd at the top, highlander hv middle, and stock frs filter on the bottom.

It has been a week since I installed this intake, been noticing my engine/engine bay stays warm for 2-3 hours, even in short 10-15 minute drives.

Is this normal? Might have installed it wrong?

Does the TRD Intake come with the TRD air filter that you can buy separately at dealers? I'm trying to buy mine and the salesperson insists that if I want the TRD Intake, I have to buy the TRD air filter as well which is an additional $100 or so because the intake doesn't come with it. Is he right or wrong?

That guy is an idiot. Yes the TRD CAI comes with its own filter. However there is a different TRD Air Filter that is made for the stock airbox. Just order the TRD CAI and you'll be fine. Don't listen to salespeople, they know nothing about the products they sell. They just fill in part numbers in the computer and place orders.

Yeah that's what I thought. All the amazon listings for the Intake said it featured a high flow air filter so I thought hmmmm. Thanks!
Will tell him to go shove it.

If you would of bought the TRD replacement filter, it would not fit the TRD intake

I have an AT and am looking for a little more pep around the low RPMs. I don't spend much time near redline, just like having a nice daily driver. Was considering a drop-in filter but from the tests I've seen (and probably misinterpreted) it seems like those help the most at high RPMs. Were there any that did well at low RPMs that would be worth it, or is the TRD CAI the best bet for that?
