PSA: Don't drive like me (unless you want a bent wheel)
Ran the ACS infield course on Saturday... basically I misjudged my speed coming out of a turn and ran it wide like how I normally would if it was the Roval config, except I tracked out too wide.
[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqJojeVMlYA"]Bent a wheel at ACS Infield via a stupid mistake. - YouTube[/ame] Mental mistake = bent wheel. I was able to hammer the wheel more straight and finished the rest of my sessions, but don't be like me and make stupid mental mistakes. ![]() ![]() In case anyone wonders, they are Weds Sport TC105N. -alex |

That's a really small off too. I've already had my car airborne several times this year and only lost 1 wheel.
Wheels are wear items. Worse than that... when it comes to a race track, everything on the car is a wear item. I've replaced so many parts on my race car it's approaching the Ship of Theseus paradox.

Damn made me cringe watching that. I did something similar last year at the track. The dirt/grass just before the track-out curbing had a big divot in it. I tracked out a bit wide/early and felt a huge THUMP as I ran over it. Also on Wedssport TC105N wheels, but no bend... thank me lucky stars...

@mav1178 damn that sucks - had a similar situation last time at track...now you're making me paranoid, I should check the wheels. Could you feel/hear vibration afterward?

I've bent cast wheels quite a few times and blown out tires with forged wheels. Exactly what @rice_classic said, everything is a wear item when you go to the track, except, getting the proper parts just makes it that much longer between changes. lol

Matt Farah hits that same spot in an APR S3.
Sounds like they need to fix it. |

I hate that. Is it really that hard to go out and pack some dirt or something else in those big spots so people don't damage stuff?
For instance, me dropping a wheel at Hallett at The Bitch (running backward from the normal direction. ![]() Thankfully I had on my FM Framerail reinforcements. ![]() Even with the reinforcements it still but a pretty good whack on the frame rail (saw it once we parted the car). And for those wondering? I just kept my foot planted and pulled the car back on track.
