GPS Antenna Question

This may be an extremely dumb question -- forgive mine ignorance with respect to this topic. If I were to purchase an aftermarket head unit with GPS, where would the GPS "antenna" go -- behind the dash, or does one have to put something underneath the radio antenna on the roof of the car? Thanks!

anywhere you can hide it inside the dash behind the stereo is fine

usually they are magnetic, there is a flat metal plate for the oem antenna to stick onto inside the dash, in front of the steering wheel... sort of.. once the h/u is out, you can kinda see it if you look.. i was able to get my arm in there and get mine in the oem location, but really anywhere in there is fine enough

cool stuff. thanks @Danklvr ! i was just curious because i was thinking about removing the stock radio antenna on the roof and having a body shop fill in the hole for me -- but im also considering getting an aftermarket headunit with GPS; so I wanted to make sure those two goals were compatible

How's sat radio reception from here? I have mine under my beatsonic antenna. It's pretty good, but if I can move it to the dash with little degradation, I'd prefer it.

I see why it wouldn't. The only interference would be a plastic hood and a windshield.

Can you just stick it to the top of your head unit?
