Should the dealer be able to inspect and maintain a supercharged vehicle? What types of special instructions would they possibly need for proper upkeep of the supercharger?

I would maintain the supercharger yourself, but there is no reason they can't do regular oil changes/maintenance on the car. Which supercharger do you have/want as the maintenance is different for each.

i dont understand you need to go to dealer for service. i should go to private local performance shop i trust

Like King_Tut said, the dealer should be able to handle maintenance.. albeit power-train stuff isn't going to be covered under warranty for the most part.

However, I would definitely not be taking it to a dealer.. especially once heavily modded. A reputable specialty/tuner shop will be able to pick up on little things going wrong better, and a tuned FI car is going to be more finicky and sensitive than a stock one.

Everything on this car is super easy to do yourself as far as maintenence. I don't see any reason to take it to dealer. If tools is reason buy em and have em for life.

This is very true. Only real PITA may be the time when spark plugs need to be replaced. The rest is very straight forward.

On a similar note, I know guys who won't let their friends drive their car but then they'll turn around and drop it off at the dealer for a fucking oil change. "It's free!"

Maybe because if your friend fucks up your car you are SOL.

If the dealer fucks up your car, you get a new car.
AND - the dealer keeps records of the maintenance.
If you do oil changes yourself, and something goes very wrong later, they can question if you actually did the maintenance or not.

Some Toyota (Camry/Solara) owners were denied engine replacements after failure because Toyota claimed that the oil changes were done incorrectly.
The people who got 100% free engine replacements? - The ones who had their oil changes done at the dealer.
Look up Camry Engine sludge problem if you dont believe me.

when i had the blower on my car, i did take her to the dealership for service. of course, i stayed there the whole time to make sure they didn't go for a joyride. only service you really can't do at the dealership (depending on what blower you have) is to top up the sc oil. for that i'd recommend using a performance shop.

Ok so that part makes sense, but still doesn't explain why he doesn't just change the fucking oil himself if he cares so much about his car. If the dealer fucks uo they're liable Yeah but who wants that headache? Because it's a "free" headache?

For both my wifes car and mine..

I have a folder in our firebox where every receipt goes when I do maintenance on my car with the mileage and date written on the receipt at the time I actually change it.

If you do your own oil changes, I highly suggest you do the same.
