What should I know when buying new suspension?

I wanna drop my FR-S about an inch, maybe 1.5. I want to make the handling a better as well as making it look nicer in general. Most sites just sell products though and don't say why you should buy THAT particular product, so I'm coming to the experts...

What should I look for before buying? I generally buy from ft86speedfactory.com, are there any package deals you all would recommend?

It's a far ways away but I just wanna get my ducks in a row before pulling the trigger. Thank you-

You have not stated what it is you are trying to improve. That is, what your goals are with the car. You also haven't stated a budget.

You should look at these links:

That last link is very long and will require a lot of reading to find the parts that are relevant to yourself but that thread is answered by 2 of the most knowledgeable and helpful people on this forum (thanks Andy and Mike). You should read the whole lot.

I want to improve the handling and be able to handle wider wheels and tires. I also only wanna only lower it an inch or so. I plan on it being a DD but eventually doing autocross

I don't have a budget quite yet because I'll be getting the suspension with the Rocket Bunny which is over a year away more than likely. Wanna try and keep it under 3k but it just depends on the quality of it.

Thank you for the links btw, I'll get to reading
