***Finally!!! Bilstein B14/PSS Coilovers***
After seeing these at SEMA last year, Bilstein has finally released their B14/PSS coilover system for the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ. We immediately brought them in-house and here they are!
Bilstein took their sweet time on developing this system and, since they are in Germany, did their development time on the Nurburgring. That being said, these should be awesome, right?? If James May had anything to say about things being developed at the Ring, we might not be getting much praise out of them. Luckily, he is too busy doing other things... The B14/PSS system is a no frills coilover that features set valving from the factory and height adjustment for the end user. It is a heavy duty system made from quality materials, which is to be expected from German engineering. Simply install, set ride height, and head to the track Springs come from Eibach and are a progressive rate spring, meaning you have a softer rate cruising around town and a stiffer rate when you are really pushing the car. Spring rates are the same as the Euro spec version at 2.5 - 4.5 kg/mm front and 3.0 - 7.0 kg/mm rear. The springs are designed for use with OEM top hats, so only a few aftermarket camber plates will be useable (ie. ground control, Com-C) We believe this is going to be a great entry level system. Another great option to consider against the KW v1. Between the KW1, lower ebiachs and the RCE tarmac 0s its a tough market for this price range.
I need to get rid of my stance coils soon |

I had Bilstein B14 coilovers on my previous car and absolutely loved them! Top quality stuff....ride was just perfect never crashy. I didn't give a toss about damping adjustability but some others this (lack of) adjustability may be a turn off. But I agree its quite pricey....

Looking at these and the tarmac 0s now with some camber plates. Seems like a good setup for DD and the occasional track day.

Something to consider is these can easily grow with you.
Put them on, drive the hell out of the car for a year or two and once you have it figured out, respring/revalve/shorten to any kind of setup you want as Bilsteins are well supported here in the USA. You could likely convert them into take-aparts too. Any idea how progressive the springs are vs. performing more like a main/assist spring setup? |
