Lost key... is there an app that can find it?
I remember reading in the user manual that mobile phones can interfere with the key being recognized by the car if they are too close to each other.
Is there an app that can tell me if I am near the key? Also any idea on the cost of replacement for a key like this below?

Sry on sencond thought it might be possible somehow but way more work then its worth, you would need the app to recognize the code thats broadcasted by your other key and then detect it by walking around all over where you think you might have lost it, but i doubt he key broadcast very far so you might be in visual range of the key b4 the app would even see it, i am thinking like 1-2meters.

@Alabang BRZ I hear what you're saying; you'd need some way to detect the radio from the key fob, only thing is the key fob doesn't broadcast unless the button is pressed.
Question was asked on another forum "How can I detect the signal from a key fob?" http://www.nerdkits.com/forum/thread/2133/ And the short answer is a 315 mHz +/- 2.5 mHz detector, etc. |

Is there an android or iPhone app that can read that frequency? I just need it to detect a signal source. Don't mind searching one room/car for it rather than 6 cars and 6 rooms. |

contact Apple. They'll be able to tell you if "there's an app for it" or not.

OP, it's not necessarily a matter of having an app to do it, the phone would need to be able to detect/use the same frequencies as the car/fob. I have no idea what the car uses. If it's RFID and you have a newer phone that has an RFID scanner or a NFC chip, you may be onto something.
