front bumper chips

well, i've noticed i have MANY chips in the paint on the front and well touch up paint isn't doing it so I am going to resort to getting it painted. Anyone have any recommendations out here in orange county or the IE. i'm actually in chino hills 91709 and work in 92870 so somewhere near those would be great. any ideas on how much that would cost would be awesome too. thanks guys!

Any pics? Interested on what you mean by "MANY"

I follow pretty far back while driving and have been able to avoid getting too many. I think I'm up to three or four

Let me know how your journey treats you. Since October of last year, 18,000 miles and a 60 mile a day commute, I've accumulated more than 20 chips (minor being you have to be less than a foot away to see the chips, and major being over 3 feet away to see them) in my front bumper. I'm contemplating having a full repaint or just a DIY with a bunch of sanding, plastic weld and a weekend with some OEM paint.

You can match the paint color of a factory paint job, but it's damn near impossible to apply a good clear coat without a proper paint gun and paint. I keep hearing consumer grade clear coat is no good.

Frankly, it amazes me that people are already considering painting these cars... the vast majority of them are less than a year old. Is the paint made of butter?

I spend my Saturdays with pearl lacquer paint to fill in the chips, and then the Toyota issued touch up paint.

I have had maybe 7-10 chips in the last 12 months. They bother me too much not to fix it. I usually use a toothpick to fill in the chips.

Everyone in my family thinks I am crazy and they make funny comments when they see me messing with the car. What pisses me off though is how thin the windshield is. I have 4-5 chips looks like a pellet gun. thinking about it makes me angry, but when safe light offered to fix it for 4 $160 bucks I decided I will live with them. A man has his limits. Its not even mine, I leased. But I take care of the car better than I take care of myself.

Yeah, it's not that expensive if you consider that it's good for 5-8 years, and if you're ready to repaint the bumper after a year of owning your car, you'll probably be ready to repaint it next year. No idea why so many people don't bother with a clear bra, but will go through a lot of hassle and expense trying to fix paint chips on the front bumper. It's one thing to not care, but if you do care, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

When I had mine applied, the installer told me that the majority of cars he does, the owner is coming in after a few months of ownership and a few rock chips and decided "Hey, maybe I should have done this after all".

I'd recommend getting a clear bra after you repaint, or else whats the point since you'll be getting more down the line. I love my clear bra
