Borla UEL Header, works automotive parts and ecutek tune
We just got my girls FRS back today. Installed this visit Borla UEL Header. Works Automotive resonated front pipe and Works over pipe. Also got a ECUTEK custom tune.
We already had an agency power cat back muffler and AFE intake. The base we had with existing parts was 150.3 HP with 118TQ on this particular dyno. After new parts and tune we are sitting at 164.9 HP and 129.6 TQ. Also had him extend the limmiter up by 200 rpm. I wish I had him do a dyno before the tune, but both of us suspect the tune did not add a lot of power. We got 173 HP on a mustang dyno with the old parts. I will run it again on the mustang to see what the tune and parts got on that one as well. My Girlfriend and I defiantly notice the added power. It sounds sooooooo bad ass now. But the audio on my phone does not do this thing justice. Also the odor from not having any cats is not very bad at all. Especially comparing it to my uncatted supercharged Celica. ![]() [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8z1fBFTgUw"]Borla UEL Header FRS dyno with works autmotive exhaust pars and tune - YouTube[/ame] [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJpdzQBMRHo"]Borla UEL Header FRS Driveby - YouTube[/ame] Last edited by clayrush; 05-25-2013 at 07:06 PM. |

na,
I am gonna take it back to the tuner next week. The power still feels good, so I don't think it is anything major. |

Just go to an auto parts store and use their code scanner to read the DTC. Write down the code, the description, and the general time and date that you got it. Clear the code from the ECU and take your notes to the tuner.

update
Update
We had the code disabled. Also I finally got a chance to get the FRS dynoed on the same dyno we did our stock run on. I was a little sad on the HP gained for all the money spent so far. But this does confirm a bunch of torque gained at 3500 rpm and again nice increase above 5k. about 15 or so. It also confirms my tuner a bit more conservative than some of the other tuners on the forums.I am really considering going E-85 or with a flex fuel setup. Here is a pic of our best base run with my best new. Both runs in 4th on this system. I not sure what we the other guy did. ![]() also a new vid of latest dyno run. Hi There,
i have a simular set up, but left the stock overpipe. Got the Visconti Stg 1 tune. The tune gave 14.74 whp before installing the Borla header, but still had the mid dip simular to your dyno chart. When I installed the Borla and did dyno the mid dip is completely gone and gained great additional torque and no real whp gains. Visconti is looking at my data logs at the moment as the header has changed the tune and causing it to run very rich, which is creating loss of power at top end. I thought id share my dyno to give you an idea what your tuner should be able to do for you in the mid torgue. Also regarding the smell and noise I fitted a magnaflow HPC on the front pipe, smell gone and have deep boxer rumble. My dyno is in kw so im currently sitting at 168whp running in 3rd gear on the dyno, oddly enough when I run in 4th gear i get 175whp. |

There is a big difference in hp between different states due to gas as well. I read a couple articles where the 91 octane in cali is crap. May be holding you back a bit.

I'm no expert, but something isn't quite right here. The other dyno's I've seen with the Borla header show a much flatter torque curve. Any thoughts?
