They're benchmarking a speed3? A six year old power train in a three year old body. That's kind of sad really. Maybe for the WRX that would be fine, but for the STI...

LOL. I think Subaru is doing a little trolling.
The new WRX/STI isn't supposed to be an Impreza. But the real joke is the wing. If Subaru was serious about trying to disguise the STI, they wouldn't leave the telltale wing on. They're not stupid. I think this might be a drivetrain mule, but I'll bet the entire body is a red herring. It's a 2013 Impreza with a 2011 STI wing bolted to it. |

I'm very afraid that what "they" said the WRX/STi would be, and what it's going to turn out to be are going to be vastly different.
