Gin Ryuu BRZ
A few pics attached to introduce myself to the scene here.
2105 Subaru BRZ Limited Ice Silver Metallic - purchased brand new back in February of this year. Wasn't planning on buying a new car but I had taken my son to a car show event in Irvine that earlier that day. He loves cars; and I mean really loves cars ever since he was born. He could spend all day just looking at cars. So he wants to go to the dealer to "look." We go over and I end up taking a test drive and well you can see what happened! I was a bit of car guy back in the day but that side of me had been suppressed for several years while my kids were little. Needless to say the inner beast has been awoken. So at first I wasn't going to mod it. Just maybe add a few things here and there. Well that didn't last long either. I'll attempt to keep this updated and post the mods I've made in other pics as well. Been on here reading many pics and discussions and its been helpful so thanks to all of you for that. Done some of the mods myself but want to thank Evasive Motorsports for the work they've done on this and especially Hugh over there for all his input and knowledge as well. For Evasive's part they did the HKS SP coilovers, the HKS HiPower Spec-L catback, Perrin intake as well as the Enkei GTC01RR 18x8.5 and Toyo Proxes T1 sports 235's. I've done quite a bit to the interior, but I'll post those pics later on. |

Its been said it can't be done, but it can and its not all that difficult to do. Fitment is great. The OEM audio upgrade was definitely an improvement that I'm very happy with considering what this car is. You'll always have some road/exhaust noise to interfere some but if you want complete quiet and clarity you need a different car. The fitment and ease of installation was extremely well designed by OEM. Just took a Saturday and my son's help. Absolutely loving this car. My son used to bug me about getting this car and pretty much any car over the past couple years. He's absolutely nuts about cars and I'm always putting him off about it; but one day I was walking by a dealer and one of these was sitting out and suddenly thought to myself, "damn that's a nice looking car." A few months after I ended up buying one and haven't regretted one minute since. As you can see I've done quite a bit in just a few months and planning on doing more. Now just need to find a second job to be able to "feed" that habit. Thanks for looking and for those in SoCal I'm sure I'll see some of you around. Last edited by Gin Ryuu; 11-06-2016 at 11:25 PM. Added a couple of things from Velox today. The Cam plate replacement and the Carbon Exhaust cutout cover. My cam plate wasn't failing but looking at all the postings it was probably a matter of time. From the pics looks like it would eventually. Besides, makes the engine bay look better.
The Exhaust covers are awesome. Really look great, fit is spot-on and they go very well with my HKS catback. Looking at adding the Velox rear diffuser soon as well. Also removed some badging from the rear. Very clean look. Might be time for the black vanity plates to complete the look in the rear. |

Okay so I haven't updated in awhile but I've done quite a few additions. I added a few Beatrush/Cusco chassis/suspension braces which have greatly added to driving joy of this car. Its super tight and the ride is definitely on rails. Quite fun to install as well.
Added J-Blood Fender garnish and Pro-Composite mirrors which I really adds to the look of the vehicle. Love these two mods especially. I have a Pro-Composite half roof as well, just need to clear coat and then that will be installed as well. APR rear spats add to the carbon fiber look and the silver and black theme is really coming along. The biggest mod of all is the Volk G25 in dark silver prism. I LOVE these rims. They are the perfect addition to the look of my car. 18x8.5 all around and sticking with the Toyo's 235.40.18. I had the Enkei's which I need to get up for sale and while they looked fine, the Volks are just unreal. Can't say enough how much I'm loving this look. I deleted the Perrin air intake as I wasn't very happy with it and, after having taken the bumper off a few times I didn't want to take it off in the future just to clean the filter. I changed to the Mishimoto one because of the CARB deal and I also added a HKS duct. This setup I have found superior to the Perrin one and to the stock setup as well. The Perrin one just seemed to me to cause delays at time but the new setup I'm running I have no issues. Very responsive. I've got some pics here below but I really need to get the car out and take some proper pics which hopefully will be soon. Thanks for looking and hope you enjoy the look. |
