Hi guys,

Yesterday I went to test drive a MT FRS. I like the car it looks amazing but im really unsure about buying it and maybe you guys can help me.

The car feels good but the only thing that I noticed is that revs too slow and lacks of both power and torque. Is this something normal? The guy at the dealer told me that the car will feel better after the break in. Is this True?

I was really excited with this car but I want to know if the car will be like that after the break in.

My first car was an 95 integra GSR and what I feel when driving the FRS is something slower. And my actual car is an 04 S2000 which is faster. So probably my expectations were higher but im hoping that this is something related to the break in.

Another question: Is the performance completely different from MT to AT?

felt the same way on my test drive, fucking love how it looks but the performance was very underwhelming, handling is amazing though

I guess you shouldn't drive a Miata or any late 80's/early 90's sports car, then. Might be "too slow"

Yes, they free up a few ponies after broken in. Yes, the power doesn't come on until 5,000rpm so you have to wring it out to get the most of it. Yes, 200hp is perfectly adequate for this car. Yes, the AT is a little bit slower. If you really aren't satisfied, there will be plenty of power to be gained with aftermarket parts and tuning. Many people are giving up much faster cars to get this one, including myself

Had an evo. Could have gone Evo from my jeep. Went w/ the 86... why? Because it doesn't need 10000hp to be amazing, it gets awesome gas mileage, is surprisingly practical for what it is, it drives like a wet dream, and is gorgeous.

The evo has a lot of that too except mileage but it doesn't come with toybaru quality, reliability, service, and warranty.

My old brother had a Corrolla GTS and a Mitsubishi Starion. I know what you mean.

But me and my wife like the car so we are going to get it but probably with Automatic transmission. I'm on my search for a S2000 CR.

I too felt very underwhelmed regarding the power after having owned an AP1 and currently daily driving a 380whp Evo, but I suppose that is to be expected. I'm still thinking about picking one up as a beater/DD, but am a bit worried about depreciation after the STI/upgraded FR-S version comes out.

I went to one of the Scion mini-autox events last weekend and got to ream an FR-S out. Fun and easy to drive, absolutely, but kinda slow and gutless.
