I ran my car revving it to the 4000rpm cap during break-in, driving it at various acceleration rates and engine speeds on highway runs every night. The car did not burn a drop of the stock fill, changed it to Eneos Sustina 0W-20 @ 4800km and again @ 9600km and the engine has not burned a drop of oil still. I drive it all the way to redline a couple of times on a weekly basis, and rev match downshifts to engine brake it hard coming out of the highway to give it some exercise.

The engine got noticeably smoother on hard acceleration after the 9600km oil change. Also changed the tranny oil and diff oil to Subaru Extra-S (rebranded Eneos Gear Oil 75W-90 GL-5 according to Eneos) @ 9600km, the gearbox shifts and the diff locks up so much smoother now. Currently at 12,000km.

I'll see if I can make it to 2K miles but I won't drive the car very hard with whatever it came with.
Filter is before the rest of the motor and unless you had MAJOR wear the filter isn't going to go into bypass from restriction. If you have wear bad enough to clog the filter, your engine is toast already.

Glad to hear it! The car is certainly tightening up nicely at 300miles it's already a joy to drive more so than on day 1. Filter will get changed this weekend regardless of needed or not (ill order a couple dozen filters for maintenance). I'm a bit of a natzi on maintenance for all of my cars... My ap2 gets the valves checked/adjusted every spring after 3-4k miles of driving oO
