Replacements can be found for under $120 each if you don't care about rotor brand (most people don't). |

Why 4x the life? I don't know as much about brakes as I'd like yet.

Also, the metallurgy is far superior on the Brembo rotors. OEM Brembo rotors cost a lot because the metal is good. AP Sprint rotors are designed to be tossed rather quickly, and thus use cheap metal because you're not expected to keep it a long time. Even if you equalize the metallurgy, the sheer capacity of the Brembo kit will still yield a 3x longer life. |

I know I'm being a pain, but what's the part# for the rotor? Do you have a template available for wheel fitment?

Looks like the 3 thing on priority list one may have to change. 1, Keep wheels (I really do like the PP wheels) 2, Keep original OD. (With the 2017 lower gearing can not afford to reduce OD do not want to increase OD) 3, get a little wider tire. |

Can someone also provide the Toyota part numbers? Not sure if Toyota sells this package in the US though. In Europe they have it available as an option.

CSG Mike, what is the part number for those Brembo Slotted Rotors front and rear in the Counterspace kits? I still can't find a slotted rear in the stock PP size and your kits show slotted for front and rear, and Brembo no less...

The discs for our 86 kits have the same metallurgy as what we use on other platforms and in racing. Here's an example of the Speed Academy FR-S getting 50+ events out of one set of our 299mm discs. We had one Porsche 991 GT3 customer get 70+ days out of his. The price on our discs is low because we buy thousands of them a year from AP Racing. The quality and longevity of our discs is unsurpassed. Take a look at our blog, and you'll see all types of cars running them with great success. Disc life is something our customers more or less universally rave about. https://www.essexparts.com/news-blog To say they are low quality throw-aways is absolutely ridiculous. They have been proven over and over again to be the best bang-for-the buck on the market. |

Hi there...I competed in SoCal 86Cup in 2015-2017.
In these photos I have 17 track days on the AP Sprint kit versus 15 track days on the Brembo GT kit...obviously I would have liked to do this after I could get 2 more track days on the Brembo GT, but i think the photos speak for themselves. Same driver, same car, and same tires (260TW GTRadial SX2 on almost every day). Hopefully this helps the data-oriented people in here to see why I praise the CSG Spec Brembo GT kit over the AP Sprint kit. Also please please if you are using the AP Sprint kit make sure you INSPECT THE BACK of the rotors every couple of track days at least for internal diameter cracks...I would not have run my rotors for 17 days if I knew the ID was cracked on the backside...don't make the same mistake as me (I got lucky)! Thanks, Fil NOTE: as pointed out by "strat61caster" and what is visible in the Excel spreadsheet is that I switched from Winmax to Project Mu...I also made suspension changes (JRZ + SPL Parts) ...I also probably changed my driving style...take everything with a grain of salt guys and gals CSG Spec Brembo GT kit -- 15 track days CSG Spec Brembo GT kit -- 15 track days AP Sprint kit -- 17 track days AP Sprint kit -- 17 track days Excel spreadsheet of track days Last edited by kinchu007; 08-15-2018 at 09:57 PM. |

Then why do you neglect to mention the change of brake pad?

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for the data points. How much does the disc weigh in your Brembo Kit (also curious about the caliper and pad weights if you don't mind)? How much does the iron replacement disc cost for your Brembo Kit? Finally, what do track pads cost for your calipers? Thanks again. |
