My pos daily died. I'll be looking into a Jetta TDI soon. Waiting on the 15's to come out I think in October to make a decision. Pricing on 14s may drop as it gets closer.

You may want to look at used Audi A3 TDI's as well. There are some nice examples of there for good prices, like this one with the sport package: http://goo.gl/6MNmWd

I'm a sucker for a nice hatchback as a DD. They are so practical and still fun to drive unlike most SUV's. I'm still thinking about getting my new Tig APR tuned for the lols

I recommend the G-Force line of helmets if you're on a budget. I also recommend waiting a few more months if you can until the SA2015's start coming in so you can future proof your helmet an extra five years for acceptance in HPDE's which all usually follow the 10 year life span. In the mean time you can check and see which clubs offer loaner/rental helmets at their events until you can get your hands on a SA2015.

x3 on hatches for DDs. Very practical for their size.

Another advantage is they tend to be shorter in length than comparable sedans, so they're great for women/spouses who hate maneuvering big cars. My wife loves driving my GTI for that reason and has pretty much claimed it as her car now. Which is fine by me, the more sportier cars in our garage, the better.

I don't how anyone can DD another car after driving a twin. Well, maybe in traffic on I-75/285/85 etc. Thankfully I don't have to deal with that.

I'm lucky as my commute is early in the morning, empty backroads, and relatively curvy
And because of this... I'm at 12,000 miles now with 14-ish months of ownership. Pretty much double yours

@Bg8780 and I were talking about a GTI for his girlfriend yesterday when he came over to pick up the Enkei's from me. They're the best all around hatchback for DD out there IMO, and only an APR tune away from being very fast cars.

There's something special about VW/Audi's 2.0T even in stock form that makes scooting around town so much more effortless and enjoyable than the FA20. It's got a small turbo and great midrange torque that I find perfect for daily driving. It's the opposite of what I'd want at the track, which is why I love the FA20 even naturally aspirated because it makes all it's power up top and loves to rev, where the VW 2.0T falls on its face above 5k rpms when the boost tapers off. Once the 2.0T is tuned it becomes a monster and the FWD layout becomes a big burden on the car without a nice electronic LSD like the new GTIs come with. I'd really like to drive one of those since the reviews all say the new diff is amazing.
