You're forgetting the whole dyno calibration aspect of things. Dyno dynamics can be switched to read like DynoJet's or Dynapacks with a couple of clicks. I am NOT saying that's what happened here, but merely stating that not all Dyno Dynamics have to be heart breaker dynos. Considering his results, I'd peg him somewhere in between a Mustang and Dyno Jet for numbers if they are corrected.

Also, if he's hitting 12.5 psi at that altitude, he's not running any of the typical pulleys that Vortech offers. As far as I understand, they offer 8.5, 10, and 12 (measured at sea level). It's a good thing he's running E85. I'd be scared as hell to run 12.5 psi on 93 with this motor.

Oh and I love the people saying that < 100 ftlbs below 3000 RPM causes them to "snap their head back".... really? lol. Maybe in first gear...

I am fully aware that it can be switched to simulate Dynojet numbers. But unless otherwise noted, it is not my first assumption to think it's giving DJ numbers. Otherwise what would the point be of buying the DD over the DJ.

Theres alot of benefits to tuning on dyno's other than dynojets. You cant tune part throttle on a dynojet. I think however dynojets are the best for standardized numbers. I use alot of dyno's...I've seen some mustangs read high, others very low, same with dynapacks. I've had a customers car get tuned on the same dyno Gem uses and 2 days later make alittle less on a dynojet.

I LOVE it when people automatically proclaim any given dyno a "heartbreaker", especially when they have never run a vehicle on it simply on the word of the parts manufacturer saying their dyno is even lower than all other mustang dynos, or Dynojets.. or whatever. If I were a manufacturer I would want people to assume that my dyno ran low too.

Can't tune pay throttle using a DJ? That's news to me. I'm going to ask my tuner about that as I'm not seeing how the Tuning on the ECU is dictated by the management you are using, and not what you are getting HP numbers from or not getting from since people do part throttle tunes on the street.

Hope you was not referring to me, as I clearly stated that I have dynoed on a Dyno Dynamics. And people don't proclaim them to read low based on manufacture claims. It got that Stigma from the general public through their experience.

You can't load the car on a dynojet...you can on the street. Dynapacks, mustangs, dyno dynamics, maha dyno can all simulate various load points. There may be an option for load control on new model dynojets but all the ones we have in the PHX area are older models and dont' have load control.

It's growing in NorCal and SoCal decently, and they just opened a station in fresno, I wouldn't suggest a trip to vegas on it though. but LA <> SF is possible now on it.

No, I've seen dozens of comments of people claiming dynos from shops they've never been in or seen to be "the queen of heartbreakers" (not to call out any shops) in other threads. I think the term really has been slung around a bit too much. There are many tricks people can do to tweak dynos.
