Many years ago I worked in a chicken/turkey processing plant (another one for you ls1) and once a month they would send in all the turkey laying hens that had reached the end of their career. These things could weigh in at 50 or 60 pounds and have legs at least that big. I broke my baby finger separating one of those legs from the hip joint. It isn't something you would want to roast up though since much of the meat was actually starting to rot on the live bird since they didn't move around much.

Looks like a beef femur, like the ones my son gets at the pet store for his Belgian Malinois.
