However I appreciate the constructive criticism. I don't get out much to take photos, and I've noticed myself not really thinking about things when I do go out shooting - which isn't good.

Without knowing your budget - I suggest a Sony A6000 or a new/used Sony A6300 if you can swing it. Perfect size, great photos, easy to use. Honestly. If you want point and shoot, and post photos on instagram, save your money and just use your phone. I have an LG G5 my work gave me and you can do everything a DSLR can. Except shutter priority.

I'm really looking into picking up a Fuji X-T10, however with the X-T2's right around the corner, I'm assuming the XT-1's will obtain a substantial price drop.

Should I go ahead and buy an X-T10 18-55 bundle or wait out for a good deal on an X-T1?

Depending on what you plan on shooting. I say wait it out for the XT-1. For a few reasons. ISO dial, I'm always running around changing my ISO settings and I am thankful that I don't have to go digging thru menus to change my ISO. Theres auto ISO, but IMO I don't feel like it does that great of a job. Another reason, a larger buffer between photos. Sports, wild life and some automotive photography heavily depend on this, at least in my experience. Waiting for the camera to catch up is kind of a pain.

Also, weather sealing. You never really appreciate the joys of having a fully weather sealed camera until you find yourself in a raging downpour or at the base of a waterfall and need to take some pictures. Just remember to also use weather sealed lenses for those occasions.

The X-T1 and E-M1 came out about the same time, but I went Olympus for the much better lens selection and my existing m43 lens correction, though did consider switching systems. X-T2 is now out and I'm mulling a change again, unless the E-M1 mk2 is amazing. Fuji has come out with really nice glass the last few years and are catching up to m43 in that respect, at least enough that I can consider changing sides.

Would that be the DX Nikkor (16mm equivalent)?

I briefly had a fisheye (m43 mZuiko 8mm f1.8 Pro, so same equivalent FL). Thought the lens was really cool, but just honestly couldn't figure out how to really make best use of the effect. Granted, it's taken me a few years to come to terms with shooting ultra-wide (14mm equivalent fully rectilinear), and anything that is honestly wider than say 20mm gets challenging, but fisheye just wasn't something I was ready for. I ultimately returned it within the Amazon return window, but would consider trying it again some day.

If you've got fisheye experience, or love the look and are willing to put the time in the understand how it changes composition, it's a great lens. Reviews really well. At $800 new it's a bit steep for me being such a specialty lens, but it isn't too unaffordable. The Olympus lens I had was more expensive, but it did have a 1 stop advantage, and a crazy close focusing distance of I think 2 cm (which with a fisheye and that aperture made for some interesting right up close distorted shots with actual bokeh).

Will post some of my fisheye shots when I get home.

When I had my Olympus E-1 rig the first thing I did was bringing it to Niagara Falls on the States side and taking the elevator down to the waterfall deck. The only problem was trying to keep the water spots off the front element lol!

Now with the E-M5 I just have the 12mm permanently attached to it as a street photography setup. Too bad this lens isn't weather sealed (the downside to sharing the product line with the PEN series).

I would more look at stuff like this I found in a quick search of the LA area criagslist (assuming these are legit and the cameras are fully functioning):

Truth be told, most SLR owners never buy another lens and just use the kit lens. While most hobbyists will bemoan and bad mouth most included lenses, some of them really aren't terrible, and they are still generally going to give you better results than most cheap P&S cameras will. At least you get options with an SLR.

Thanks again for all the input, Wanted to report back. I ended up purchasing a used Canon T2i on craigslist. Excited to play around and get some shots!!!
