Makes you wonder huh, this is unrelated kinda but lately for Subaru, dealers said approx 2-3 weeks avg lately from time they place orders for vehicle to arrive. My brother just ordered a 12' STi. Subaru has them all made besides paint/options for production for their models, not sure how FR-S/BRZ is being handled.

No way they are going to make 9000 FR-S unit for the 7 month widow.

I wish but I highly doubt it. But if they are going to price it around $22k they will sale everyone they make.

Pricing we really need pricing...

that dealer must be getting your brother's car from an inventory that is already in the states or will be in a day or two. The boat ride alone is 2 or 3 weeks much less getting the car slotted into production and then getting it through the port and onto a truck to be delivered to the dealership. It's typically a 4-6 week window for delivery when you order a car from japan.

All of that assumes there is no back-log of orders either which is not the case for the BRZ/FR-S.

They have not even started real production yet, even on the BRZ. Just because they placed an order does not mean it will be built this week. All the cars we have seen out there are pre-production.

Japan will get the first production cars. And that is not till later this month or early next month.

He was talking about the WRX STI. Production on those is definitely in full swing.
