Lol, Yeah they really need to at least finish paving the paddock area... walking around in muddy gravel then getting in your nice new car (sans floor mats) with muddy feet blows.
I may be up there again this friday with Buy A Vette but I'm not 100% sure yet.

yo man, I think i saw you at AMP this afternoon over by the tower... I assumed it was you anyway pulling in to do the "learn the line" ride around for PCA this weekend.
I was over by the garages with the GTE crew... Had an awesome day running with the buy a vette group today. I cam to look for you before i left but I could not spot your car and assumed you were in a coaches meeting. Have a great weekend.. hopefully you will get a break in the weather.

Curious to see how those Project Mu pads work for you if you get some dry laps in. I wasn't very happy with the DS2500's they just don't have enough bite once they get heat in them and i started getting pad fade about 2/3 the way through the sessions today. I don't think it was because they were green because it was the same behavior every afternoon session with 40 minutes cool down between sessions
I don't want to have to swap pads before and after every event but at this point i may consider doing that if it is primarily due to noise and not because the pads won't work on the street. I saw that lotus.. very nice looking... I drooled a little bit when i saw the AP's tucked under the wheels

First day at AMP in the books, and I'm pleasantly surprised it rained early morning but my first out it was wet but no rain and it slowly but surely dried up and stayed dry ALL DAY with sunshine during my afternoon sessions!
Don't care if it rains tomorrow since I already had enough fun today to satisfy me.I ran four full 25 minute sessions with no incidents, car ran great, all the recent mods made it feel AWESOME! The TF Brake Cooling kit did its job and kept rotor temps under control all day (no, I didn't measure temps) based on the 9/10ths driving with the Project Mu pads I experienced zero fade and the front rotors look surprisingly good. Can't catch a fingernail on anything and they are wearing pretty even. The PMU HC+800 pads are great for hard track driving. They took a beating! The bite was excellent cold and hot; they did NOT fade ever! Uploading GoPro footage now. It will speak for itself ![]() Also, I have a new found respect and lust for the Lotus Elise SC my student is driving. 1990 lbs wet, AP Racing front and rear brakes, carbon seats with 5 points; WHAT A MACHINE!!!

HD footage takes forever to upload and process...
Today was a total washout, non stop rain, I didn't take the BRZ out on track as I had no interest in risking what Saturday thankfully made a great weekend. My student had the same sentiments so I headed home early today in non stop heavy rain at highway speeds for over an hour. The brake ducts and hoses probably allowed some moisture through them but even in the constant downpour at speed I never lost any enough bite that I'd feel unsafe driving in rain again. I did a few quick brake jabs when it was safe to do so and I noticed the bite was a bit weak for the first split second but keeping constant pressure on the pedal all the bite came back instantly. If the rotors have any heat in them at all they are fine regardless. I'm not sure if any water actually made it to the rotors but if it did it wasn't a significant enough amount. I'd say if you run the TF brake cooling kit and drive in the rain at high speeds you should definitely play it safe and leave extra stopping distance and brake early when possible. Again, I'm not sure if water was actually making it to the rotors, but the cold moist air definitely was and during long highway stints in the rain I'd recommend being cautious but don't worry too much about it. Great videos mate. That GT3 must have been furious being beaten by a lowly BRZ..
