In any case, I really think the tires will have to go before colder weather sets in sincefthey are summer tires. I would have definitely selected an all-season tire if the option were available given this will pretty much be a stock DD for me. |

Could you clarify? Do you mean he applied too much pedal based on the conditions and any car would have spun whatever tire(s) the power was being applied to? Or was this unique to an LSD RWD vehicle?

Some Photos.
These pretty well represent the Firestorm color in person (at least on my screen)

Love the firestorm color, and wish I could change my order to that without having to wait.

Thanks for the info Dadhawk! I haven't had any issues like you, but it's been raining a lot here as well. As for the stock stereo, it actually does sound really good and has great functionality. The only gripe I have with it is it doesn't come standard with satellite radio. That's pretty much all I listen to, so I'll either have to put in my portable receiver or swap in my DD head unit with sat capability.

This thread makes me feel like I'm in highschool dying to get into some girls pants. I want my car. Thank you for the good pics of the firestorm.
FWIW, my tire plans are to run Michelin X-ice snow tires in the winter and probably Hankook RS-3's in the summer months. I don't know if you get enough winter weather in Atlanta to consider the same plan. I was impressed with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus that I put on my IS350 for a year round tire, though that was a much heavier car.

but seriously, when i first got my miata it has some less than sporting tires and it would break loose over the painted crosswalks at intersections. im sure new tires will fix that up. i think they just intended the car to be able to handle more and assumed most buyers would be replacing tires anyways so that was just one extra way to get the price down |

Brand new tires some time are very slippery. From reading the reviews, the FT car are tail happy, fun but one needs to be careful. Magazine testers with smooth test track and lots of practice sliding around away screams for more over-steer. I have concerns that the insurance for the FT will shot sky high when people installed bigger rear sway bar for more over-steer and slide the car right into trees or curbs or whatever were in their way. If I got my FT, I will relocate whatever I can to the back of the car: battery, windshield washers tank... My WRX with worn star spec also slide, but my G37 S Bridgestone does pretty good in the rain, with the traction control light lit up like a Christmas tree of-course. |
