U.S.S. Yorktown (CV-10). WWII Aircraft Carrier now a floating museum in Charleston, SC at Patriot's Point. Definitely worth spending the day there if you are ever in the area and have an interest in aviation or military history.

Most interesting facts I didn't know is the Yorktown was used as the Japanese flagship of Admiral Nagumo, Akagi in "Tora! Tora! Tora!". It was also the recovery ship for the Apollo 8 mission.

This is as close as you can get by car, but there is a gangway (seen on the left in the picture) that leads to the ship used by delivery trucks, etc. Unfortunately I couldn't find anyone with enough "power" to offer a donation in exchange for a photo shoot up next to the ship.

West end of Bremerton Naval Shipyard. A bunch of carriers mothballed.
The one in front is the USS Independence, next back is the USS Kitty Hawk.

Parked in the lot of the HWY 420 pot shop. It's Sunday, so they were closed.

Atlanta Motor Speedway, from the infield, The Grandstand and Turns 1 and 2. In the turn photo (taken by by someone else), my FR-S is watching me in the blue "F1 Car" on turn 1 and 2, as part of the Andretti Racing Experience.

That was an absolute blast! My fastest time was 149.7MPH. The cars are speed limited at 155, and I was bouncing off the limiter. If you are going to do one of these, the Andretti one has to be the best, no pace cars, passing. It's just way too short a ride!

It's also amazing how short that huge track gets at that speed. It was like a small go-cart track.
