Don't know about the 300ZX, but the best versions of the Mk3 and Mk4 Supras were the JDM versions.

You can't really respect a car that looks horrific!

So you don't like the look of those cars.. thats your right to like or dis like the car based on looks.. and as for under powered. you hit it right on the head... small engines for good gas ..

if you can't respect that then you might not be a car person ..

scion ft86

Toyota does have a bad reputation in America, it had the shit ripped out of in all the late night shows and they have been advertising with the scion for a while a sports car/drifter with Tanner Foust and formula d. this move is purely for marketing purposes I believe, as long as it isn't a scion over here in Australia or in Japan I don’t think it will be a problem, Jonno.

What are you talking about? This isn't a forum for Prius' and Insights. Its a forum (mostly) filled with racing enthusiasts. We don't respect car's for being gas savers, unless said gas savers are engineered for spirited driving and said gas saving doesn't come at the expense of making the engine feel like you got a boulder under the hood that won't respond to your input and takes 5 years to reach 3k RPM.

THIS

Fate seems sealed as a Scion in the U.S.

With a Subaru version also on the way, highly unlikely there will be a Toyota version in the U.S. Just like all the other Scions except the tC, it will be re branded Toyota model from Japan. Who cares what the US brands it though, swap the badges to JDM Toyota badges, JDM "Toyota" parts will still fit....I'd be more concerned about whether it will be NA or not.

I was hoping there would be a "special edition" or "limited edition" of this car. Something like the NISMO 370Z, or the Mustangs.

But I don't think that will happen with Scion.

On a random note, I was able to price out a Scion tC to $40,000 on their website by adding all the accessories last year.

That should NEVER happen, especially considering they were non to low performance gains.

Scion, sigh... Better go find out where my local idiot-filled dealer is. This is only in the event of the Subaru version is stupid expensive (but a couple local Subie dealers are real ****s...)

I wonder if the Scion is going to have a 180 hp (stockish) FB25 in it?

How'd you price a car that starts at $19k up to $40k?

I added all the neon lights, underglow, foot area glow, door sill glow, and flashy trim.

Also added the TRD oil cap for extra HP!

I literally added every single add-on they had at the time. The new tC's have less.

I will let you know that the 1ZZ-FE gas saver in the other 9th Gen Corollas' respond way the hell faster then my 2ZZ-GE screamer from idle to 4000rpm (daily driving stuff). It obviously has more useable torque in that range.
