Just out of curiosity, how do you plan on passing smog later? Are you guys planning on putting the stock stuff back on for the test then back to the headers/etc? Just curious.

So Tylub, just looking for an update - did you do the swap and were you happy with the results? I have a non-resonated headerback as well and was curious if I'd be happy with the resonated midpipe now that I've gone FI and tend to stay in the higher revs for more fun

(perhaps a smaller resonator in the midpipe would have been sufficient). so to sum everything up, it's a love-hate relationship If you can deal with the little rasp before it is fully warmed, love the raw roar of the exhaust note, and can deal with volume, stay with the non-res (I miss being a tad bit obnoxious hehe...) if you want more DD use out of it, lose the rasp COMPLETELY, planning on headers, want the volume a little lower (compares to my pop's stock cayman exhaust now, although it is still slightly louder) try to trade for the resonated if you have any more questions, let me know :happy0180: |

Thanks man - this is definitely going to be one of those situations where I'll have to experience it for myself to see if it's too drastic of a tone reduction. I definitely don't want to go too quiet or I'd just be better off switching back to stock since the aftermarket power gains really aren't worth mentioning.
I'll see if I can find one local to me to see how it sounds. For your situation, maybe it's time for an aftermarket header to open the sound back up
