You might not have to worry about the "chirp" in 2014

Only issue .... when is the 2014MY going to arrive at the dealerships?

That may not work for the FRS because those cars dont tend to sit on the lot like the other models, atleast not at this point and time..they sell before the get to the lot, or very soon after

The only two things we know about 2014:

1) New standard touchscreen radio

2) The tsb's and line fixes for the 2013 MY will already be integrated into your car (less hassles and hiccups for you)

I'm waiting too, but that's mainly because I'm still a total noob at stick.
Also I want the bugs to be fixed, and Ill have a few extra bucks for some cosmetic mods...as for touch display, Aftermarket upgrade is you're best bet. Trust me on that

Don't forget about the rear view camera in the '14!

(but I would just get one now, like I did)

You're missing out on a fab car! Get one and start having fun !!!

OEMs do running changes, they may add new items and features for a new year, but fixes happen during any model year.
The car was introduced in 2011. Production started in Feb, so that's already a year and 4 months. If you look at The TSBs you see the changes to production and the dates whitch occur throughout the year.
No need to wait.. Unless you want to pay a bit more and possibly get a new radio. As far as resale value goes it won't matter much if its 13 or 14.. Mileage will make the difference, not the year unless there are more desirable options between years. Besides.. They are rare right now.. And you get to be all jacked and cool.. People will look at you.. Your car actually..

-2014 will have new audio
-2014 will have higher resale due to that number "14" instead of "13" even if you drive off a 13 a month before, people will look at it like it's a year older :/
-2014 IS just around the corner

Or the second-gen 86. With the CAFE standards set to take effect soon, if you can wait even longer, then you might have yourself a 35-40 mpg 86 by then.

don't wait. If you're financially ready, go and buy one that's exactly the color and options you want. 2014 won't have anything worth waiting for. it's silly to let yourself continue to crave for something and wait when it's readily available right now. We're not talking about conceiving a child either, lol... it's only a toy car...

Wait until 14's are released and then buy a dealer leftover 13' for less.
