These guys are on the right track but let me shed a little more light on it. Every time you cycle the ignition, the car reverts to whatever is in Map 1. The problem with this is 100% safety concerns. If you've got the pumpgas map loaded into Map 1, and then let's say hypothetically like you described, you've got the e85 map in Map 2, and e70 in Map 3, and then you fill the tank with e85 and switch to Map 2.. technically you should be fine right? You would be IF you remembered 100% of the time to switch to the appropriate map every single time you cycled the ignition/turned your car on. We realize that sounds simple enough, and I'm sure 99.9% of the time, everyone would remember. But that 1 time out of 1,000 when "someone" forgets to switch, could be enough to blow the engine and create a VERY unhappy customer.

As we've stated since the beginning; safety is, and will always be the top priority with our calibrations. And until we're able to build in a failsafe or automatic Map switching mechanism (and it's in the works), we just can't load both e85 and pumpgas calibrations on the same flash. We know how eagerly people are waiting for this capability, and this thread will literally be the first to know when we make this functionality available. Until then, trust me.. we feel your pain. But we'd much rather have you deal with this inconvenience for the time being, rather than the (albeit small) possibility of dealing with the MUCH BIGGER problems forgetting to switch maps could create. Does that make sense?

It's in the works! We want to give you guys a "turn-it and drive-it" solution no matter what fuel/blend is in your tank, and that's what we'll deliver.
Rich, could you set e85 to map 1, then e70, the regular gas? That way if a customer forgot the car would run rich. Or is there risk of damaging the cat running that rich?

I had my car to the dealer today about an issue with the passenger side window. This issue has been covered in other threads so I'm not going into that. The tech decided the most likely cause was me disconnecting the battery, which caused the programing for the window switches to be set to a default, which lead him to plugging in the dealer ECU programmer tool. He was able to reset the window stuff and didn't realize the ECU had been tuned.

I know there's been questions about this and John has answered them. I just wanted to add this in case anyone was still in doubt.

But what if the tech know the procedure to switch map with the cruise control stalk ?

I will always flash my ecu back to stock if i go to the dealer whatever the reason.

As there is obviously some way it can remember the previous map could it be programmed automatically to start on that map each time? Thanks.
Is this still working?

Hi John,

It still works every time on my car. I do not know how or why but it does so there is obviously some way that it is remembering.

I don't use it, but it's worked every time I've tested it, and the same from everyone else on the board who has tested it as well.

I think what John is saying is, it does seem to work for most people, but no one knows why it works and if it'll keep working. It could work for a month straight then not and unfortunately that could mean a blown engine if someone is on the wrong map. So beware and always double check just incase.
