Thanks Rob!
Occasionally it does. On some big dips the rear left tire rubs very slightly. Just need to raise the coilover ride height a bit. On +38, I don't think I could get away as low I am with the +43 offset.

JPM Coachworks Gauge Cluster, Shiftboot, and E-Brake boot install

Ordered the JPM Coachworks Alcantara gaugecluster hood, shiftboot, and E-brake boot and installed them today. Just followed the DIY from their website. I must say that these products are top notch and the fit is perfect! Alcantara looks very well at home in the 86! It kind of makes the interior more upscale.
Some pics:

You swap this part with the plain stock part.

Really happy with how it all turned out.

Installed SS brake lines, master cylinder brace, and changed to HKS brake fluid

After my first trackday, I realized that the car could not go more than 5-6 hot laps without brake fade. I ordered my brake pads already but my SS brake lines arrived first. Our next trackday was coming up so I decided to see if the SS brake lines plus brake fluid would make a diffrence minus the pads. I also ordered a Grimmspeed master cylinder brace to firm up the pedal.

Brake lines:

GS MCB:

HKS Brake Fluid:

Installed:

Installing the lines and brace firmed up the pedal feel a lot better than stock. The pedal doesn't feel mushy anymore, a great feeling while driving out on track. Hot laps are still the same, around 5-6 laps before brakes start fading, but the pedal seems more solid than the last time. Can't wait to try new pads and rotors soon.

Corner balanced and Installed Speedworks overpipe

Also installed the Speedworks Overpipe before my second trackday to further enhance the Stivo testpipe I installed. Install was relatively easy, and went without drama. The Speedworks overpipe features water jet cut flanges and tig welding. Quality is great, and I felt that the exhaust flowed better with it on. I was seeing more top speed on the straightaway than the last time I was on track with my stock overpipe. I really need to get a tune when my headers arrive...

Overpipe:

After my second trackday, I was talking to some guys from Speedworks. I got to know them when I picked up my overpipe made by them. Cool guys to hang with. They also offered to corner balance my car for my next track day. Took a while, kept on adjusting the preloads on my coilovers till we got that 50/50 balance with me inside the car.

Corner Balance:

My review on the corner balancing:
If you have coilovers, you have to get this done. I thought that adjusting the spring preload did not make a difference before, and boy was I wrong. The difference just on ride quality alone made my money's worth! Getting that 50/50 weight distribution just makes getting around corners more fun. The car seems to be planted so much more! Can't wait to get back on the track!

Some trackday pics:

My first trackday: (was using my 19's)

2nd Trackday: (using the 18's with RE-01s)

Review on the Bridgestone RE-01:
These tires are way better than the Nankangs I have on the 19's. But I knew that already. These tires allow me to brake later, and carry more speed into the turns and exits.

I'm waiting for some Hankook stocks to arrive. Heard nothing but good reviews of it.

Installed MaxRacing cold air intake duct

Went to japan recently for a holiday and do some JDM part shopping. One of the parts I bought was this MaxRacing intake duct. Kind of a cold air intake integrated with the stock airbox. It replaces the stock snorkel with a bigger and lower positioned snorkel designed to suck up air just behind the grill.

Stock Snorkel on the left and MaxRacing duct on the right:

Stock snorkel opening:

MaxRacing opening:

I have to say, the install is a bitch to do. You have to remove the front bumper which is reasonable, but the next steps are really PIA! You have to remove the front bumper reinforcement and the crossbar which getting to the screws are challenging.

Bumper off:

Crossbar off, duct connects to airbox here:

Reinstalled the crossbar over the duct:

I also installed a Pivot Dual Gauge before I installed the MaxRacing Duct. I observed that the intake air temp with the stock snorkel varies as much as 20deg - 30deg C when sitting in traffic and a constant 5deg C when moving! With the max racing duct, it went down to just 10deg in traffic, but when moving the intake air temp is almost the same or around 3deg C difference.
Car feels more responsive now!

Tight fit:

Behind The grill:

Installed Pivot Dual Gauge, and Prova Steering Wheel

I also installed the Prova steering wheel I purchased from my recent Japan trip along with the Pivot Dual gauge.
The Prova steering wheel is a bit smaller than the stock one, but is more thicker and has grooves along the body and fully wrapped in Alcantara.
The difference in feel are night and day from the stock piece. Grip is way better, and the feel is just more exotic, more of like an expensive sportscar.

Box:

Installed:

The Alcantara wrap now compliments my JPM Coachworks Gauge cluster hood, shiftboot, and E-brake boot. Great product from Prova!

The Pivot Dual Gauge is specifically made for the 86/brz. It is designed to fit in the driver side AC vent and still retains its functionality. The only problem is that you cannot change the direction of the air. The install is pretty easy, and it blends right in with the stock gauges. A nice clean way to install a gauge in an 86. The gauge displays water temp, intake air temp, and oil temp via the OBD port.

Installed Shadow E-Drive Throttle Controller

Some people argue that this mod does not give any gains and is a waste of time and money. Well, I've had some experience with them before and to some people who have not tried it, you should. I know it does not add HP, but the modern electronic throttles are way too unresponsive. This tool lets you tailor the throttle sensitivity to your liking and driving style. It has 3 modes, an ECO mode, normal, and Sport mode. Eco mode has 5 settings and Sport mode has 7 settings. I use eco mode in stop and go traffic and this removes the jerkiness of the stock throttle. On the track, I use sport mode 5, which is just right for my liking. Sport mode really wakes up the car. Throttle inputs are more responsive and the car seems really willing to accelerate. There is no lag when you mash the throttle. I've tried the highest setting, but I feel it is too jerky. Overall, I think it adds to the driving pleasure of the car!
