However, the chances they would successfully complete that task without talking an innocent person out with them is enough to revoke their right to self expression in my opinion.

I would imagine they will feel really stupid when they drop their steering wheel out the window and it gets run the F over by a big ass truck and they have to drive home with a pair of vice grips for a steering wheel

Umm no. Most roads are crowned and a "good" performance alignment will follow the crown as well as any tramlines in the road. And cruise control has nothing to do with the car pulling to one side or another.

why not, it's not like they can chase you unless they keep a spare wheel in the back seat :happy0180:

Is it sad that I can actually see that happening?

oh man, this has been a fun thread at work today.

Will be back tomorrow for a lot more replies!

In fact... I actually met this guy at one meet. Leaves his steering wheel off when parked...
He told me that he had to get a new car because he re-positioned the clutch wrong and the car was riding the clutch...but the car crashed! I guess he even lies very well...

relax man. There are plenty of sane tuners out there. just because the loudest members are the #yolo #swag #hellaflush #420 #lowandslow types doesn't mean the serious tuners have disappeared.

I mean, all you have to do is take a look at the member cars section and you'll see plenty of tuners who don't fall into that crowd.

that said I don't discount the loud crowd. I just don't like the style. you enjoy your car the way you want. I can't say otherwise.

so chin up, there's plenty of us out there.

LOL, I think we all have a very small amount of respect for the guy, to be honest it's non-existent in my book.

Lying, Driving without a steering wheel, WTF.

BTW this new trend is just going to cause people to die on the road. Watch out for idiots while driving, and drive safely everyone =)

If this is truly his steering wheel hanging out the window, then this goes well beyond the line of "to each their own". I stuck up for the the hellaflush guy because he seemed to drive the car in such a way that his mods wouldn't really put anyone else at risk. When you get rid of your control of the car so that you can take a picture, you deserve to lose your license... plain and simple.
