Advantage of being local, there's no import tax for spending over $1000. I've been doing the rounds emailing suspension producers asking questions too. I've only had replies from Australian producers. *shrugs shoulders*

Hey Coyote. Have you done a write up of the reds? If not would you like to give your impressions?

Perhaps im wrong but I was told by a mate from the Evo community up in Qld that only the gold series are manufactured in house.

The reds are manufactured overseas in components and assembled in house.

The blues are fully manufactured overseas to MCA's specification.

Just sayin' what I was told....so dont shoot me....perhaps MCA could clarify this?

I've heard similar about the RED series. Was told the components, at least the complete shock housing, top mounts, and spring, is sourced from taiwan. I believe the NMB pillowball is German. The valving and assembly is inhouse. The internal shock components (shims, needle, piston, oil) I am not sure if thats in house or overseas. If MCA could clarify that would be great.

If anyone wants to know something specific about these, post a question and I'll give you my opinion.

Pretending to be a motoring journo is not my thing. I don't read their shit anyway.

You're just playing hard to get! it's not hard to give an impression of how they feel, that's all people want. just say "it corners like it's on rails, man" and they will be happy!

What improvements have you noticed from the stock suspension and any negatives?

You're basically correct. This is the reason Gold's are $7k+ and Reds are $2.8k.
So, for the extra $300 that you pay for Blues over BCs you get suspension that has been setup by the best in the business and track tuned by some of our best drivers.

The 6kg springs are better damped than the soft factory springs were, but there's the compromise.

6kg in this car is too stiff for a good ride on crap city roads. I reckon it's about right for blasting a back road, but too soft for sticky tyres on the track. On the highway the damping and rate is just heaven, but mine wanders a bit due to an aggressive alignment.

The nose bobs a bit like a Porsche, but that's also spring rates and does not relate to the quality of the shocks, just selection of a rate.

It's like posting a picture of a low car and everyone asking "what's it dropped on?". It's doesn't matter. Low can be achieved with an oxy torch.

The damping is seriously fantastic in that the spring control on both compression and rebound is wonderful. I think it it as comfortable as a 6kg spring could be in this car, but anyone who says it rides "like stock" has their hand on it.

It does not thump, but NVH is certainly increased. You can't take away a bunch of soft rubber and not have that happen. There is no crashing, but there's also less travel over similar bumps.

There is less dive under brakes, but it still seems to put power down at least as well as stock. There is MUCH less understeer on turn in and more ultimate grip mid corner, but that's a combination of better shocks and better alignment (which is partially a function of the adjustability afforded by this kit.

There is bags more "feel" for the road and what the tyres are doing.

In short: They are good. Get them.
