My BRZ is not as roomy as a Civic Si or a Focus ST and honestly if I had a family the BRZ might not of made the cut. But single and it did!! So yeah, most people would choose utility. And the sales numbers will reflect that. But when the time comes, that's just the excuse I need to trade up for a redesigned 2014+ model WRX!! Or keep the BRZ for the weekends and supercharge it.

So I'm curious about the jump from 400 monthly BRZ sales to 900...I read they were ramping up BRZ allocation here, but this much? Good to see, but will this monthly amt continue, or was it a one off month for this type of jump?

I wonder what the grand total of sold FRS/GT86/86/BRZ in the whole world would be as of today?

Just to hold this up against the light in comparison to the S2000...
It looks like the FRS is pretty much on par for 1st calendar year sales compared to the 1999 debut of the Honda S2000 and one might think that's not necessarily a good sign because the S2000 didn't become a real popular car... However take into account the sales of the BRZ's and combined, the twins are doing well. Also, the S2000 never sold more than 20k units globally in any given year during its production and the FRS (excluding the BRZ) has in it's first 12 month period (Calendar year 2013 should be excess of 20k if trend continues) and once again, if we include the BRZ sales things look even brighter. So the S2k, which is a brilliant car, had a 9-ish year run with dismal figures. Upon initial review of the FRS/BRZ figures it looks rather good for the Twins and rather good for Toyota/Subaru and hopefully this is a somewhat of a illustration to other companies that "affordable sports-car" is a popular idea and can be a profitable idea.

I remember back before either car were released, Subaru (to get me to buy) said that the brz "is better because there will only be 1 brz to every 10 frs" after about a year, it looks like its more like 1 to 3. which is still tantalizing to some. ironically, I've only seen one other frs where I live and like a dozen brz's

In 10 months, the FR-S/BRZ has sold more units than Toyota's last sports car, the MR2 Spyder, did in the five years that it was imported to the US (23898). Congratz to Toyota/Subaru for keeping the same basic essence but making it a tad more practical for everyday life. Plus, if you take inflation into account the FR-S is considerably cheaper than the MR-S.

A lot sold for a sports car. It's good. I can get them much lower price later, if I choose to get one over my NB.

The March 2013 YTD sales numbers are slightly higher than projected especially the FRS. I thought these numbers were going to be the fiscal year ending numbers. The FRS/BRZ sales ratio is about what they projected, maybe less BRZ's sales than projected.
I bought my FRS in June 10, 2012 and I'm in the first 2770!!

Frankly, I want them to sell a million of them. The more sold, the better the aftermarket support. Think Honda civic.

Despite the Civic Si aftermarket size advantage, I think you also have to take into account that the Civic Si needs a few more things to feel close to a BRZ, whereas the BRZ feels like a BRZ already. Add a supercharger, some better brakes, an upgraded exhaust, and the BRZ should feel like a genuine, high end, fast sports car. The standard FWD 2012 Civic Si would only induce torque steer above 200HP. Even then I still picture Doc Brown coming down the Honda sales floor like a maniac, exclaiming "It's your suspension balance Marty!! Something got to be done about your suspension balance!!"
