Actually, its pretty fast... 0-60 in about 6 sec. and 143mph top speed. Do a little research and compare... its faster then some supercars from the 80's. How fast does it really need to be?

Subaru Canada has got a hell of a problem... The base WRX here is over $32000 and the Scion FR-S is going to cost $2000 to $2500 more than the US version. Assuming the US car is $23000 then a $25000 Subaru BRZ will rape the WRX market. That won't happen though, the BRZ will cost $5000 more than an FRS in Canada.

You're ruining the great logical equation I made. It's cheap and reliable!

You may be right, there is to much info atm. That was the number I saw somewhere on the forum yesterday but I can't recall where. Either way 99% of us will never max the car anyway, even on a racetrack. I just feel people have gotten spoiled and twisted by hp and 0-60 magazine stats and when somebody says the 86 is slow I always think "Wow. I remember when 200hp 2600lb sportscars we're fast, when did they become slow?"
I blame 265hp Camry's and sonata's...whats the point?

Just to stir the pot, how do we know it's reliable?

Hmm, well my family has put over 3 million miles on Toyota vehicles. Whether it was a MR2 Turbo, Celica GT-S, Camry, or a pickup truck. Never had a problem with them, put well over 200k miles on every single one.

Plus, Subaru is pretty reliable as well.

I dont think it will be cheap guys...sorry. I think it will start around 25k
25k or so to start is reasonable but not cheap. If you get all the options and trd goodies i bet it will be close to or a bit over 30kUS$

Honestly, that's not going to work in the american market. I mean, people (regular people who just want a "cool" car - TRUST me there are more people like this that will buy the car than Enthusiasts, why? it's Toyota's Bread and Butter) will just look at this car at that price and say

"WHAT?! that much for a Scion? HA! *runs over to a Mazda, Ford, or Hyundai Dealership*

Same reason Nissan has trouble sometimes selling the GTR to people whom regularly drive a BMW, Audi, Etc.

Seriously, Toyota is not stupid, hell, they are so huge for a reason, including Subaru. Also, i know this car is lighter and what-not and has a center of gravity as low as grandma's knockers but c'mon guys, regular people (hell, even girls who just want a "hot" car) will not care about Center of Gravity or milimetrical values on a piece of paper. they will just see a small, fun SCION, that happens to look devilishly attractive.

This will be Scion's flagship vehicle in the US, the tc already goes up to 22k. There will be 1 spec, and add-ons thats the way Scion does it as far as I know.

This argument doesn't work based on the interviews saying Toyota didn't follow their traditional development process for this car. If they didn't follow traditional development why is everyone expecting them to price/market/sell it traditionally as well?
