Regardless of the price, at least the pure pricing should help reduce any potential dealer markup. This is the only highlight of it being released as a Scion. Quote:

And Toyota already said no pricing during the reveal..
Maybe by NAIAS?

24,995$ for top spec without nav. and leather...
It almost has to cost that much, can't think of a single car atm with 200hp that is less then 23k. Better performance comes at a price, turning and stopping well costs money... parts cost more and tuning development costs more. This is a sportscar with low production numbers, it will cost a premium. That said, it cant be cost more then 25k because there are alot of cars in that price area to make most people look elsewhere. |

I'm thinking at least $26k for top spec without navi, $30k all decked out. The base model can't be less than 22k, since that's Civic Si territory. I'm guessing $22-24k. But 24k would be a harder sell, because that goes against the Mustang V6. Given that they'er purportedly aiming to just break even, I'm hoping it'd be $22.5k.

Subaru has to carefully price the BRZ as well. You can get a 265hp 4WD WRX for $26K and it seems like Scoobie is gonna charge more for the BRZ than Scion will for the FRS. This is why I think it will come in close to 22K. It has to cost more than the tC but probably less than the BRZ. $22-23K is the sweet spot for this car, IMO. - Jason

This talk makes no sense. If you buy a brand new Audi RS5 will you think that for this money you would rather prefere a second hand Aston Martin V8 Vantage? And how will you maintain the Aston?

I hope you are right but its not going to happen because that's only $1k more than the Scion tC. The FRS is going to fall in price between the base Genesis 2.0t and the base WRX.
So think 24k to 25k fully loaded. |

When I talked to the dealer he said the scooby will cost 25K. They had dealer training in LA which apparently revealed the unofficial price tag.

My thoughts exactly, 23k-24k for the TRD aero kit version with maybe just basic amenities such as A/C and a decent radio with AUX. Maybe better looking rims at least for that price but if they can lower the price and give me steelies then im down. Realistically im looking for the TRD version at 22k with steelies and cloth seats. I just can't wait to get my hands on this thing lol so jittery thinking about it.

Depends on what is available as options, I'd pay $23K for base car, and tag on options I care about...
HID Leather Wheel I do want the bigger spoiler that reminds me of the Supra MKIV... Can do without the rest of the kit tho... I'm not doing stock BBS rims even if the price is good... TE37!!! Otherwise, the lighter the car the better! |

I suspect that we won't see the steel-wheeled version in the US, because as a rule, the US typically only gets the mid-level to high spec versions. The rest of the world's mid-level car will be our "low-spec" and will start around $24-$25k. A loaded FR-S / BRZ will likely top out around $30-$32k with Nav, Leather, Heated Seats, etc. I'm sure people on this site will balk at these prices because all everyone seems to do is compare horsepower and price tag, but in reality, such a pricing scheme is right in line with most hot hatches and the 86's main rival, the MX-5. Save your pennies, kids.
