Review - car didn't like it. Threw a PO172 (Bank 2 too rich) code and the car went into limp mode.

Talked to Jack today and he advised going back to the standard 92 map, and running some 3rd gear pulls on the 92 map compared to the 89 map. See which is faster and go from there. For whatever reason, my car did not like the fuel + map.

Please follow up and let us know how it goes. Also cali 91 octane here and searching for the best map still. Currently on Fuel-/timing~ 89.

I need to take my car in for tail light leak before I install my unichip but here is my 2 cents:

Not entirely sure how close Jack (or whoever tuned for him) cut this for the octane rating but I would recommend trying 89 Fuel ~ Timing + or 92 Fuel ~ Timing -. It will bring you a little closer to the optimal power point for 91 octane fuel. once you decide what timing set up the car likes then work on lean/rich for burn rates. IMO the combustion point should be your first target to achieve. In an ideal world i think you want a AFR of 11.5 to 13.0 at WOT (not sure if you have the Flux or if it can even monitor this )

happy tuning!

Note: I am not a professional tuner just an enthusiast that does a little homework from time to time

Working on an e85 tune through the piggyback system. However, my tuner specializes in tuning wrx and sti vehicles (hence FI haha). He already has the software for unichip, but is not a licensed dealer or tuner.

We are running into a few issues with altering the fuel maps at certain rpms when changing the timing parameters according to the airflow. The car keeps pulling timing when trying to use e85, even if we increase the amount of fuel, so it's sending me into limp mode.

Having a pretty girl in the passenger seat usually fixes this.

Bakerr6 - can you describe what happens to your car in Limp mode? On mine, I got a CEL, pulled the battery the battery cable and then the car would not rev. It just sort of misfired, but no more CEL. It just wouldn't run right.

Not the same issue, it would pull timing and the car would lose power. It's funny because when datalogging everything, when we hit 3.5k RPMs the afr would not register. Also, CEL does kick on.
