Hopefully you can make it to the April 6 cars, coffee and Karts event. Regarding Opticoat, there's a bunch of folks in the MI area who have got it done. See this thread for contact details for David Fermani and Charlie Hahn http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15744 You can call and get pricing/dates estimates. I am planning to get mine OC'ed in May. |

Just ordered a set of Enkei GTC01s, 17 X 7.5 with +48 offset in hyper black and expect to have them installed next week and will keep the OEM tires and wear'm out. My original 'outing' from winter storage was scheduled for March 31st but that recent warm weather woke me up. So, I will be out and about.
Don't do any track time but do some skeet, 'cowboy' shooting, and range practice. The BRZ is my substitute for cross country touring on motorcycles. I hung up the bikes several years ago. The last bike was a BMW K1200GT. Subsequently had a 2006 Mazda Miata (MX-5) for two years prior to the BRZ. Current plans are to trip out to CA, pick up friend and drive back to MI. This may take a month but seeing the USA is the emphasis for me. I will continue to follow this thread. |

After a week of being bummed out I can say it was fun. I figured out what I was doing wrong now. I was going to fast into the corners and couldn't maintain the line I wanted...or any line lol. Also dont lift off the gas to slow down, hit the brakes hard and than power though. My best time was 27.25

Ive only done two mods so far. Rubber grommets on the license plate to keep it off the paint and I installed a cargo net in the trunk. I could post pics if anyone wants to see them.

Had to take my BRZ to the dealer for the first time yesterday. Oil leak at 550 miles. Not a huge deal I guess its common on a lot for the FJ series motors. Its on the passage side and is used for the automatics but covered on the manuals. Just needed more Fujibond!
Well when the weather gets better maybe we can have a car meet/range day. Let me know if anyone is interested. Also this snow sucks! When is it going to warm up.

A number of things had converged:
* a number of acquantances, more experienced than I, had major and, if not some, fatal accidents. * Loss of that adventurous feeling of going on weekend or week-long* trips. *Losing the 120% concentration needed (in part due to previous reason). * Tired of suiting up in helmet, gloves, boots, jacket and pants especially on those nice sunny days in May, June, July, August and Sept when I could be out on the water, playing tennis or other important social and family activities. Cooler months even more tedious. * Change of Pace, Survival. With a car like the BRZ, will still be able to do that Touring of the Country but easier, safer and just as much (almost) fun. DO I miss it. You bet. Reading the following is what really hurts, but there is a time for everything. In my case, the BRZ has arrived. Last edited by BRZfan; 03-16-2013 at 10:13 PM. |

Karting was fun today. I'm going to try to go every few weeks. Maybe alternate between Kart 2 Kart and JD Racing. I'll post here when I go.
