You are correct! There are even more than you mentioned. For a DIYer this car is super easy. Every thing is easy to grab and the car still gives you that raw driving feel. Compared to a lot of cars today, it is considerably low tech. There are cars out there that will pretty much drive themselves. Its almost what some expect. They want a car like the GTR that is stupid quick and has so much technology that it'll make anyone look like they've been driving on a track for awhile

Some people like gadgets, some don't. We don't need a weekly post about "I'm disappointed my FRS doesn't keep my coffee warm during my commute and my water bottle cold after my workout" and that's really all that should be accomplished here. It's a modern car with modern tech, but you cannot deny that it's bare bones when you're comparing to cars that have everything that has been whinged about around here. |

The one thing im actually annoyed at is that the wipers dont stop when im at a light (stopped). The last few cars I had did that! Its annoying to have to turn them on and off.
Yeah, mirror defrosters too. |

I'll have to double check but I'm pretty sure it should. Its been a while since I drove mine in the rain and even then I'd rarely use the wipers.

The wipers do not have a motion sensor, or whatever that thing is called . Which is what you'd need for it to stop when your vehicle comes to a stop. On our cars the wiper still operates when stopped.

Technology, in some cases, is making things better.
I prefer a fuel injected car (by computer) than a carburetor vehicle. I prefer automatic windows than manual windows, because automatic window mechanisms are lighter. I'd prefer a good electronic PS system than a hydraulic system because it's lighter and provides better feedback imho. I prefer radial tires as opposed to bias ply. I prefer crumple zones as opposed to transferring all the shock of a wreck into my body. I prefer HD radio to regular radio I prefer disc brakes to drum brakes and so on and so forth... Technology has made the cars better and worse. It's not the addition of subtraction of tech that improves or ruins a car... it's the application of it. It's when simple things are over-engineered unnecessarily for the sake of adding "perceived" value to the car. An example of this is the push button "electronic" parking brake.

My dealer offered Auto-start, said although it has a separate remote it has a range over 5X's that of the Subaru autostart available on the BRZ. I think ABS breaks are the biggest, most important advancement people take for granted. |

Now if we just teach people how to actually drive a car before we give them a license...
