I picked up my new Ashphalt FR-S just days before the Blizzard hit the north east. With just 180 miles, she would up a driveway hostage under two and half feet of snow for almost a week. Not friendly in the snow but neither were many of my past cars.
Im in my 40's and drive nearly 30,000 miles a year between eastern Long Island the upstate New York. From long island beaches, suburban highways, city streets, state throughway up to dirt and gravel mountain roads. My cars see a lot of road and they get used but are always very well maintained and kept clean! My last victim was (still have her too) a '04 Acura RSX. Prior to that a Merc E300, CLK 320. Ive also driven some trucks and Ive had lots of different cars over the years. Honda Accord, Civic and a small variety of other Japanese and American models. VW Sirocco was fun. Ive had Mustangs; 86 GT 5.0, 71 302 coupe, 66 V8 Convertible. Oldsmobile's! 68, 70, 71, 76 Cutlass Supremes, 98-LS's and a Vicious Bitch 80 Z-28 Camaro Custom HotRod; 400HP 350, 4-speed, posi, rancho, Holly light-2-light pike car. I like cars and I like to drive. Friends had had awesome cars too, Haha basically just name it! FR-S is really replacing an Acura RSX as a daily driver. I choose the Toyota over others like the Mustang and Civic SI. I was NOT in the market for a sedan of any type so that trims the choices down quite a bit. I choose the FR-S over some used cars like the Merc SLK, BMW 3xx or Z. The S2000 and Z350. All in the $25k range a few years new with low mileages. I like being able to put my kids in the car but it wasn't a requirement. I have other cars/trucks for that but a 4-seat coupe was desired. Im VERY concerned about first model year and build quality. I have a short list of concerns already! BUT at $24,200 its a NO F'IN BRAINER this car! Im gonna spend a few thousand on it over this year; put on options I decide I want. I have a shot list already for that too. If build quality is good I'll likely want a Turbo Convertible in a few years. Or maybe a BMW. SO the snow cleared and I took her on a LONG ride, just turned 1000 miles and we've seen a little red-line. But we're taking it easy, burning just gas right now although I did see 112mph unexpectedly. Im seeing 30mpg too so she's not so thirsty either. My RSX is a lady. Shes polite but not a prude. Smart and sexy and willing to please. The FR-S is a nasty bitch with a little bit of an attitude and likes to fight back a bit. But shes got a lot of love if treated right and is easy and not fatiguing. |

Hello! I drove a Scion tC RS1 for 8 years before an unfortunate rain accident (that I walked away from unharmed!) and have been wanting the FR-S since I first heard of it. Was putting off going back to having a car payment, but that choice was made for me! I'm picking up my Firestorm 6MT FR-S by Friday this week and I can't wait!!

Hello,
My Name is Deep and I'm from Kansas. I currently drive an 08 tC and am just counting the days until I can get my fr-s. I would already have one, but I drive too much at the moment for me to own something so awesome. I will hopefully have one by mid-summer! |

Hello from other forums and the SF Bay Area. I am in the market for either a BRZ or FR-S in the next few months. Bought a Scion iQ for a commuter and it just isn't working out, need something more of a DD since my current build, see below, is becoming less and less of a driver and more of a toy.
If you want to check the build click here. Happy modding! |
