We will find out soon. I think it was GM or Dodge that recently released that they were starting development on a car to compete with the twins.

I am really loving this thread. Even after all the explanations, the flames keep burning. Classic. With this much passion, we would have solved world hunger in the last 2-3 days.
Anyways, I'm going to go start my car now and wrestle with 1st, 2nd and 5th gear in my 2500 mile odo car. Pentosin.. Here I come. Thanks gmhooker! Enjoy your day friends. |

Not in a million years could GM do this. It would be like a chicken giving live birth. |

I'm sorry *if* I made anybody in here feel BAD about the car. That was never my intention. I was just trying to express my frustrations with certain aspects about the FT86 platform in the most spontaneous way. Not always a good thing. (:
I LIKE this car. I tell everybody I know who has one that it was a GOOD purchase. I know that only true "gear heads" would drive this car long term. I plan on keeping it LONG TERM. Honestly, there was a big part of me that agreed with the review by Dezoris because it hit home in many ways. I could have just as easily bought something else, but this was the most unadulterated car I could find in the price range that would be easily suitable for modding without feeling bad about how much money I spent at the end of the day. I could have easily bought a Cobra and been happy with the way it was from the factory, but where is the fun in that? Anyways, before anybody labels me an asshole for life (I hope not, lol).. I just wanted to clear this up. Thank you all for your contributions to the forum.

I've seen many a civic apart at my buddies body shop. They're not anvils by any standard. No modern car is. The FRS IS about as well built as modern cars are coming. Get used to it.. or keep buying older cars.
They're all designed to be light and rigid but come apart and dissipate energy in a crash. That equates to being built out of pressed tin foil glued together at the edges. They're not built to last, they're built to be replaced like plastic cups. But that's ok, stick with it if it does what you need it to do. |
